What is Apcela Arcus?

Apcela focuses on crafting and overseeing enterprise networks that are not only optimized for cloud environments but are also driven by software innovations. The Apcela Arcus Platform allows companies to effortlessly merge their existing networks into a software-defined WAN that caters to the intricate needs of the contemporary multicloud environment. Delivered as a service, Apcela leverages the swift adaptability characteristic of cloud solutions to improve the networks that underpin it. At the heart of this offering lies Apcela Arcus Connect, a solution that facilitates the seamless expansion of WANs across various data centers, branch offices, remote personnel, and cloud infrastructures. This all-encompassing managed service includes an SD-WAN overlay connected to Apcela's vast global backbone, employing cloud and internet gateways at more than 60 AppHubs worldwide to enhance overall performance. Right from the beginning, Apcela Arcus Connect employs an SD-WAN overlay, empowering businesses to make intelligent traffic routing decisions based on their specific requirements while allowing for the efficient offloading of internet traffic directly to the public internet. By offering these sophisticated routing capabilities, Apcela guarantees that organizations can significantly optimize their network performance while remaining agile in response to the changing needs of today’s business landscape. This approach not only streamlines operations but also positions companies for future growth and innovation.

What is AWS Outposts?

AWS Outposts is an all-encompassing managed service designed to bring AWS’s infrastructure, services, APIs, and tools to virtually any data center, colocation facility, or on-premises environment, thereby providing a fluid hybrid cloud experience. This solution is ideal for applications that require minimal latency when accessing local systems, processing data on-site, meeting data residency mandates, and supporting the migration of applications reliant on local infrastructure. With AWS compute, storage, databases, and more functioning locally on Outposts, users can leverage the entire range of AWS services available in their geographical area to create, manage, and improve their on-premises applications using the familiar AWS toolkit. Furthermore, a VMware variant of AWS Outposts is anticipated to be released soon, offering a fully managed VMware Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) that runs directly on the AWS Outposts infrastructure at customer sites. This forthcoming product aims to merge the flexibility of VMware’s offerings with the strength of AWS’s infrastructure, enabling organizations to refine their cloud strategies more effectively. As businesses increasingly seek to integrate their cloud and on-premises environments, the introduction of this service could significantly enhance operational efficiency and responsiveness.
