What is SOLIDWORKS Visualize Boost?

Increase rendering efficiency and enhance content creation by offloading render tasks to a dedicated cluster of machines. SOLIDWORKS® Visualize Boost acts as an integral supplement to SOLIDWORKS Visualize Professional, notably improving rendering speed and effectiveness by allowing the distribution of tasks across multiple machines, which helps to preserve your local computing resources for more intensive applications like CAD or Visualize. You can manage multiple jobs within your Render Queue, reducing strain on your local setup. Visualize Boost is designed to work with all output formats created by SOLIDWORKS Visualize Professional. By utilizing both CPUs and GPUs within your network, you can achieve remarkable rendering speeds. Installation of SOLIDWORKS Visualize Boost can begin on a single machine, and you can effortlessly expand to a larger rendering cluster as needed. The administration of your Visualize Boost render farm is facilitated through an intuitive web interface, offering simple adjustments to settings. Furthermore, the introduction of PowerBoost opens up new avenues for interactive real-time raytracing, providing an outstanding visualization experience that has the potential to transform your workflow significantly. This feature guarantees that visual outputs are not only generated quickly but also with superior quality and realism, elevating the overall production process. By embracing these advanced capabilities, you can optimize your rendering tasks and streamline your creative workflow.

What is Direct3D?

Direct3D is a low-level application programming interface (API) created to facilitate the rendering of primitives through the graphics pipeline and the execution of parallel tasks with compute shaders. To delve deeper, Direct3D 12 presents a solid API and platform that enables applications to fully exploit the graphical and computational capabilities of computers equipped with one or several GPUs compatible with Direct3D 12. In addition, Microsoft Direct3D 11 is utilized for generating 3-D graphics across various domains, including gaming, scientific research, and desktop applications. The DXGI component plays a crucial role in numerous functions such as enumerating graphics adapters, managing display modes, selecting buffer formats, sharing resources between processes, and presenting the rendered frames on monitors or windows. HLSL, or High-Level Shader Language, is the primary medium for developing C-like programmable shaders tailored for the Direct3D pipeline, offering developers greater flexibility. Furthermore, the DirectDraw surface file format (DDS) accommodates both uncompressed and compressed (DXTn) textures, as well as supporting mipmaps, cube maps, and volume maps, thereby enhancing texture management in graphic applications. Overall, this wide array of features highlights the pivotal role of Direct3D in contemporary graphics development and its impact on the efficiency of rendering processes.
