What is SimX?

Say goodbye to bulky laptops and complex installations! SimX utilizes advanced, all-in-one headsets that are ready to go in just a few moments and are much more cost-effective than conventional wired systems (which we also support). Whether participants are together in the same simulation environment or spread across vast distances, SimX's groundbreaking technology facilitates effortless collaboration among students, instructors, and observers in shared virtual settings. This system stands out as the most extensive VR solution on the market, featuring over 150 patients, 30 unique environments, and more than 300 tools and procedures at your disposal. We have the capability to develop completely customized cases in just a few weeks, all at a much lower price than our competitors. Engaging with a virtual patient is as straightforward as conversing with them directly, and using tools like a stethoscope is as simple as walking up to it, picking it up, and using it. The state-of-the-art simulation engine of SimX not only allows for the swift creation of highly specific cases but also guarantees a quick turnaround to address educational requirements. By simplifying this entire process, we enable users to concentrate on their learning and interactions without the distraction of technical challenges, enhancing their overall experience. In a world where technology is constantly evolving, SimX stands at the forefront, ensuring that users have the tools they need to succeed.

What is MediaLab Case Simulators?

The RBC Morphology simulator offers 25 distinct case studies that illustrate various disorders impacting red blood cell morphology, effectively mimicking the role of a technologist as they analyze blood smears. Among the morphological characteristics depicted are hypochromasia, macrocytes, microcytes, Pappenheimer bodies, platelet clumps, polychromasia, schistocytes, sickle cells, spherocytes, target cells, and teardrop cells. In addition to this, the WBC Differential simulator features 25 unique case studies, each comprising patient histories, complete blood count results, and a simulated differential count of 100 white blood cells. The cells highlighted in these studies include lymphocytes, segmented neutrophils, band neutrophils, reactive lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils, blasts, promyelocytes, myelocytes, metamyelocytes, and nucleated red blood cells. Furthermore, the Bacteriology Case Simulator presents 49 organisms that are frequently encountered in clinical environments, allowing students to analyze colony morphology, examine Gram stains using a virtual microscope, develop logical testing pathways, and interpret biochemical assessments for identification confirmation. This interactive experience encourages learners to use a split-screen view for comparing organisms or to display a comprehensive identification flow chart alongside their analyses. Overall, these simulators provide an immersive educational platform for understanding critical aspects of hematology and bacteriology.
