What is Ultimate File Manager?

What is QtFM (Qt File Manager)?

Qt File Manager is designed to work seamlessly with several operating systems, such as Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, and macOS. It boasts XDG integration and provides a highly adaptable interface, complete with a robust command system and the ability to configure custom key bindings. Users will appreciate features like drag-and-drop functionality, tabbed browsing, and support for external storage devices. Moreover, it includes a system tray daemon, known as qtfm-tray(1), which conveniently shows available storage and optical devices right in the system tray. The file manager can automatically mount and open storage or optical devices upon connection, although this option is not activated by default, and it also has the capability to auto-play CDs and DVDs if the user chooses. With significant thumbnail support introduced in version 6.2, it is compatible with a variety of image formats using ImageMagick, in addition to handling PDF documents and similar files.
