What is VABS?

VABS serves as a popular instrument for conducting cross-sectional analyses, enabling quick and uncomplicated calculations of beam properties and the retrieval of three-dimensional fields in composite beams, commonly utilized in components like helicopter and wind turbine blades. It is unique in its capacity to disentangle a complex 3D slender solid with intricate microstructures into a basic engineering beam model. Developed by AnalySwift, which has its roots in aerospace, tools specifically designed for composite beams, including those used in helicopter rotor blades, propellers, high aspect ratio wings, and various wing section designs, as well as plates, shells, and three-dimensional frameworks, have emerged. VABS has been applied in the wind turbine sector for several years, consistently delivering rapid and accurate modeling results for wind turbine blades. Additionally, SwiftComp broadens its functionality, providing solutions for plates, shells, and 3D composite configurations. As the automotive industry increasingly adopts composite materials in vehicle construction, there is a significant opportunity to apply both SwiftComp and VABS for modeling a wide spectrum of structural forms, including beams, plates, and shells, further enhancing their usability. The adaptability and efficiency of these tools render them essential across various engineering fields, thus fostering innovative designs in multiple industries.

What is GRAITEC Advance Design?

Advance Design is a powerful and intuitive FEM Structural Analysis software specifically designed for structural engineers engaged in a BIM environment. It efficiently manages the design of various structures, accommodating a range of load conditions while incorporating concrete, timber, and steel elements in a cohesive manner. Adhering to essential code standards such as Eurocodes and North American regulations, Advance Design significantly enhances the BIM experience. The software promotes intelligent, model-driven processes that are advantageous for both engineers and construction professionals. Acting as a BIM platform, it maintains the integrity of geometric and analytical data throughout the design lifecycle through seamless model exchanges. Additionally, the analysis results are stored within the Digital Model, adding substantial value to the BIM workflow. For instance, these findings can directly support the development of rebar designs or steel connection configurations within Revit, paving the way for innovative structural design solutions. With its robust features, user-friendly interface, and complete compatibility with Revit®, Advance Design is supported by a team of dedicated professionals and presents a flexible licensing framework to meet varying user requirements. This blend of capabilities not only simplifies the design process but also positions Advance Design as an indispensable resource for contemporary structural engineering projects, ensuring engineers are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of modern infrastructure challenges.
