    Overall Acumatica gives a great experience, being in the cloud, ability to create custom reports and custom processes, it can very finely cater to any business needs.

    It is very flexible, and with ISV integration and customization, it can provide solutions for any processing needs. The mobility is also a plus, allowing field staff to work directly in the system seamlessly.

    Negative

    The learning curve is very long since it does not have a very user-friendly navigability. Although there is an option to add menus to favorites, if you use a lot of screens as the base of your work, it clutters the Favorites menu.

    Even with a few issues, overall the system is very effective and efficient. He makes life working on inventory much easier. When handling errors in the inventory, it helps to be able to dive deeper into the past and movements of the items. They make it easier to find out where the item may have lived in the past and correlate where the item could have been moved to. The inventory needs these types of tools.

    The features I like the most, are the ease of use when transferring items to different locations and updating purchase orders. The system is built for an inventory specialist especially when doing investigations on inventory errors and finding more details about a product.

    The system does have issues when backtracking or updating many items. The system doesn't allow for changing more than when one item at a time for each location. You always have to go back to the home page to use the inventory details link.

    First thing to understand is Acumatica is not a tier 1 ERP. There are shortcomings. Having said that, the company releases upgrades twice a year, and they are significant. I have seen added functionalities every single release.

    For a mid-size organization we are (between 600 and 1500 employees worldwide, about half of the workforce has an ACM account), we couldn't have bargained for anything else.

    Ours is an on-premise solution (conscious choice), so I will skip the next section on Cloud ERP.

    Positive

    I have been to the NetSuite world, and it is evident that NetSuite won't have survived without a ton of money in marketing the product by Oracle

    I never knew about Acumatica till I joined the organization I am in (consumables, in regulated industry).
    As a systems person, I am impressed by the four things
    - ease of configuration
    - role assignment (whoever has used NetSuite knows how painful it is to "switch roles" every single time you have to perform a cross functional task)
    - support team that really supports the customer
    - learning path (free of cost Acumatica open university; NetSuite is not cheap)

    Negative

    Some challenges I have seen thus far:

    - There is no EDI capability, which means there may be a gap on documents either created or sent over via API/endpoints
    - Transportation path is not configurable (or I may not know how to get this one done), which means version control & change management is responsibility of application team/administrator/configurator

    The Ad Hoc Reporting tool was established to replace the Composer tool. While Ad Hoc Reporting has greatly improved since it was rolled out, it lacks the tenacity and durability of Composer. We also have complaints about data importing steps backward from version 4 to the cloud version. Solver has responded with plans of improvement. If both of these matters are addressed, our rating of this product will be 5 stars.
