What is Blender?
Blender is a highly adaptable 3D creation suite that is free and open-source, making it accessible to a wide range of users. It covers the entire 3D production process, which includes modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing, motion tracking, video editing, and even offers a workflow for 2D animation. The platform is equipped with Cycles, a sophisticated unbiased path-tracing engine that produces incredibly lifelike renderings. Users can effortlessly create, modify, and edit their 3D models thanks to its comprehensive set of modeling tools. VFX experts have lauded it as “arguably the best tracker available in the market.” Blender also provides strong camera and object tracking functionalities, allowing users to import raw footage, track it, mask certain areas, and visualize real-time camera movements within their 3D space, all without the need to switch between different applications. Additionally, its superior rigging and animation capabilities have made it a popular choice for a variety of projects, including short films, commercials, television shows, and full-length features, demonstrating its significant influence on the creative industry. As a result, Blender remains a preferred resource for artists and creators eager to explore new dimensions of 3D visualization, continually evolving to meet the demands of its users.

Excellent All round 3D Modelling Software
Date: Jan 23 2023SummaryBlender is quite a remarkable piece of software unlike most software applications. It has probably one of the most intuitive and and flexible UI available. However it can be somewhat intimidating and frustrating for beginners. While it does support creation of mechanical 3D parts i am more inclined to use other software that is parametric based. I see Blender more suited for artists however it is quite capable to be used in other industries as well.
PositiveMore than only 3D modelling Tools.
Can also do Video Editing.
Fluid and particle Simulation.
3D Printing.
Architectural Design.
Support many file formats.
Great Texture Painting.
Python Programming.NegativeDifficult to learn.

Blender? Pathetic!
Date: Apr 17 2022SummaryWouldn't even suggest it to my enemy.
PositiveGreat Marketing,
No, excellent marketing.
Wait, overwhelming marketing.
Damn they expect a lot of Pros. Not sure why they assume that.NegativeNo, I need to be fair.

Reading through their marketing articles and all the …’Consigned’ reviews (hey, watch your mouth, I didn’t say ‘Paid/), I was captivated. I ran off and downloaded Blender.
Why? because I downloaded the latest version before and when Trying to install it I was told it can’t be installed on my current hardware. Nice one. Blender just wasted my data. Thank you Blender, for not telling me upfront. BTW, will Blender give me the money to buy a new Mac so I can use their latest version? Hey, we have to keep the economy going, right?
But, fair is fair. I went to search for an older version and I found one, latest possible for my OS, the Blender 282a. Yay.
Then came another hit.
Trying to open it (After having it installed, of course (I know I have to mention this because Big Tech Gurus don’t know common sense), I got told that Blender was damaged and that I should move it to the BIN.
Guess what? I did!
But fair is fair, right? I gave it another go, I installed it once more and now could open it. Funny how Intelligent Tech doesn’t work.
Right, but now I got another intelligent Tech Work not working. Can’t ‘Render’.
I’ll stop here because otherwise I go on forever and that is enough to decide to DUMP Blender, for good. Enough time wasted on this piece of crap. -

Good, free 3D design tool
Updated: Aug 12 2022SummaryBlender is a great, free 3D modelling and animation tool. While it isn't as easy to use as its competitors, like 3DS Max, it is very powerful and has a similar feature set.
Positive- free and open source, which is good compared to very expensive competitors
- powerful 3d modelling, rendering and simulation tools
- interface can be customized for better workflow
- good animation tools
- useful keyboard shortcutsNegative- very steep learning curve

Great free open source 3D modeling software
Date: Dec 04 2020SummaryOverall Blender is free open source software, anyone can use it for free. Blender is all-in-one multi-functional software so no need to install other software like video editing or sculpting software and more.
PositiveIn this software you can do complete 3D work, rendering, video editing, sculpting, game design and more.
In modeling and UV mapping node base support is really good in Blender.
There are lot of keyboard shortcuts which help to speed up your work.
Best realistic renderer as compared with other alternative software.
There are lot of features which I've never seen in other alternative software, like Blender can create a 3D model automatically only by picture.NegativeEvery thing is great in Blender. There are no cons yet.

A genuinely viable open source alternative to the big 3d powerhouses.
Date: May 29 2020SummaryI think Blender is fantastic. I kind of wish I could show you some of the VFX animations I've done with it just so you can see what can be done in Blender, but it's not like this review system has a video uploader!
PositiveIt's free, but it does almost everything a $3000+ app like 3ds max can do. Let that sink in. Blender is an outstanding 3d modeling and animation toolset and its physics sim elements all interact nicely with each other too.
NegativeThe UI in Blender, while very customizable, is also fairly quirky, and definitely confusing to a new user. But put the time in and you'll realize it's worth the learning curve. Plus, the UI has improved noticeably as of version 2.8 so it is not the clunky and disorienting mess it once was.

Great free design software
Date: Jun 11 2020SummaryI've been using Blender for my work for a few years now and I'm really happy with it. It is not the easiest software to start with and several features are not super natural at first (like zoom and view handling) but it is super powerful and very complete. You can really anything from a simple object to very complex scenes of video games or cinema standards. As any software, there are pros and cons... and it's often a question a personal test and personal opinion. But if you spend some time to actually learn and practice, you'll see that the pros significantly outweigh the cons.
PositiveBesides the whole free-software thing, Blender is capable of some incredible work — for example, short animated movies. You can do a lot of things all in one program: besides just 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering, there are features like UV unwrapping, raster graphics editing, and sculpting. Video editing and composition is also pretty smooth in Blender. All of these things and more are used to create animated films, execute visual effects, create art, design 3D printed models, form interactive 3D applications and develop video games.
The extensive system of pre-programmed keyboard shortcuts are also a huge time saver once you are familiar with (make sure to have a copy of the shortcut list handy when you learn Blender). Perhaps one of the most significant pros is the addons: this software is modular to an impressive degree. Since its launch, users have created mini tools that mimic functionality of other, commercial software which you can easily locate and install through the user preferences window. If you can think of something, there’s very certainly an add-on for it!NegativeThe first time you open Blender, you might feel uneasy and the learning curve may seem steep. The fact is, with so many incredible features, Blender can be overwhelming and there is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to getting the hang of this tool. But the same goes for other major design programs like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, it takes lots of practice to get a good grasp of the software capabilities.

The layout of the interface and the type of workflows it allows are something you need to hash out for yourself and the large number of shortcut you can use to get things done can add to the slow learning process.
A few key stumbling blocks to be aware of include the selection system (why all the right-clicking?!), the handling of the view and zoom, and the extrusion tool (every extrusion creates a new vertex and edge).
