Powerful and flexible but often unstable, poorly supported
Date: Sep 07 2022SummaryThe software is extremely powerful and configurable, which I generally like. I have gotten six cameras working pretty well. However, if you need reliable object detection and alerts, it takes a lot of work to get it set up right, and this is where things fall down. Not because the software can't do it but because the documentation is not sufficiently clear and detailed. Despite paying for a full license - which is supposed to include priority support - it takes days to get a response to an email and it's rarely complete. And if you have a follow up question it takes a few more days. Given the lack of clarity in responses it can be weeks to get a problem fixed - if at all. Basically you're dependent on various user forums. I would not bother paying extra for premium support.
If you like tinkering and playing it's a good and inexpensive choice. If you want reliable and seamless, look for something else.PositiveVery powerful, many features for the cost. Can do almost anything. Appropriate for a home user as long as you enjoy tweaking and messing with the software.
NegativeSoftware is less than stable. The database often gets corrupted, alerts disappear. The documentation is detailed but not clear. Same for tutorial videos. Lots of them but they're still confusing.
