What is CBackup?

Numerous free online backup services exist, but most typically grant access to their cloud storage for just 15 to 30 days before requiring payment to continue. In contrast, CBackup provides a completely free and permanent cloud backup solution, allowing users to safeguard their files and memories without any financial burden. With CBackup, you can merge various cloud storage services to create a larger, potentially unlimited backup space without incurring costs for vital data storage. Google Drive offers 15GB of complimentary storage, and by linking three Google Drive accounts to CBackup, you can effectively increase your backup capacity to 45GB. Additionally, OneDrive and Dropbox can also be integrated into this platform. The service ensures that backup and synchronization functionalities are in place, providing a robust safety net for your data. This means that even in the unfortunate event of a computer failure or accidental deletion, your crucial files will remain protected and retrievable. Enjoy peace of mind knowing that your important digital assets are secure with CBackup's reliable services.

Permanently deleted my files in the Documents Library and Folders

    Date: Feb 06 2024
    Summary

Amazingly irresponsible. As a society we need a whole new ethic on technology. It is amazing to me that there is a developer this bad.

    Positive

Nothing good. Pure confusion. A total waste of my time and a significant data loss for me. Very Depressing.

    Negative

I lost everything that was previously on my OneDrive. Totally gone forever. Not in the cloud. Not on my C: drive. Incredible.

I remember decades ago when trying a new product was not so risky. Now I read the other reviews and see I am not alone. Sad.

This is a garbage product read my Overall before you buy

    Updated: Apr 18 2024
    Summary

This is a garbage product and a garage company with garbage support. Do not bother buying it, stay away. I purchased the premium package and the product has a glitch which keeps logging out my account and I lose all my scheduled backups. I have been grilled by my office manager for losing client's backup. I have reached out to support so many times advising the issue, their response was ( there might be a problem with your network, please check it out). What a sad looking respond. This is a cloud product and the account login should not time out, unless specified in the product code when developing the software/App. Inside the GUI there are no options to trigger the account login timeout. In the main login page, there is a Keep me logged in box to tick that I keep ticked all the time, still does not work, I get logged out of the account on the daily basis 5 to 10 time a day and lose backups. I use other cloud products on the same server and I never get logged out. I am going to make sure to write a review on every social network to make sure no one buy this garbage of a nightmare product. Shame on you for taking people's hard earning money and not fixing your sad product’s issues. I have screenshots and emails corresponding with CBackup support as evidence to prove my negative review for this sad product. I wish there was an option where you can write a review and select below -100 stars.

Horrible Backup Software and Sketchy Company to trust your data with

    Date: Jul 04 2024
    Summary

Horrible. My main pc still isn't backed up because they're not getting clear text because i don't trust them and my encrypted 200gb backup fails every time with their garbage software.

    Positive

Cheap only 30-40 bucks for a year off offsite backups. Installed first try. The certificates are from Aoemi i think, or fake.

    Negative

I'm probably going to file a chargeback because this isn even worth 30-40 bucks i paid for 1year x 1tb of OFFsite Fire safe storage. But even if you're able to complete a backup before the upload fails you cant trust these people with your data. There's no way to browse files easily. They your accounts linked to their cloud so they can skim your data. When i uploaded my encrypted desktop backup, failed every time. But my macbook backup is clear text folders and it uploaded. Skim

    CBackup review

    Date: Feb 13 2023
    Summary

The interface is cumbersome, not logical, difficult and without much info on what is going on.
Backing up to the cloud is the same, what is it doing. Many of my jobs ran into errors, so I build up a working backup of my local 400G in the cloud by putting folders in step by step. I thought once it was complete incrementals were easy to perform with CBackup. Wrong guess, it worked for two weeks then my job crashed, no clear fault. Had to start over again, then it stated "task removed" and I was back at square one. Meanwhile I had 700 GB on my 1TB Cloud that I could not delete with CBackup anymore...
Stupidly I bought a year-subscription to uplevel my traffic for backup, hmmm.. Note that that subscription comes with another 1TB from CBackup, but you cannot use that 1TB for Cloud backup or for Cloud-sync .... WTF ? I have PCloud, which also was not supported, would be in future but no clear roadmap or timelines.. Do not buy it, trial it and you know what to do.

    Positive

I was looking for a good cloud backup solution and I thought I found one. I also liked the functionality to sync from cloud to cloud, and the option to combine all clouds to one personal cloud.

    Negative

Backup slow and many times runs into errors without clear reason or fault.
Backup-task suddenly 'removed' spontaneously by the software, message showed, all gone.
No possibility to delete backup sets left in the Cloud, you need to remove them with the cloud-app. also that file that states: Cbackup: do not delete any files in this folder .....
1TB Cbackup Cloud storage cannot be used as ' cloud' in this software -- WTF ?
    PCloud not supported.

    Refused to give refund

    Date: Nov 27 2023
    Summary

Use Google Drive to automatically backup your files instead, it's free. It's free and much easier to use and more reliable.

    Positive

When it worked for the 5 minutes it did, it did what it was supposed to. Kept logging me out and wouldn't sign back in.

    Negative

Keeps logging me out multiple times a day. It wouldn't log back in. Asked for a refund but am just past the time allotted for a refund. But I guess they need the money more....

    CBackup review

    Date: Jul 30 2022
    Summary

When I write how terrible they are, that's an understatement. They're slow, their UI is not clear on what is actually happening with your files. You can't see where it's at with each file, and when you write to support their English is poor and they blame the files I have.

HOW CAN MY FILES BE THE PROBLEM IN A BACKUP!!??

Then the other thing is their reviews. They are fake. They use the same picture of the person on two different reviews. They have one review twice, with two different people using it. And they have a username which is clearly female, that uses a male profile picture.

The company just screams SCAM! I hope everyone sees this before they use them, because they shouldn't be getting any money from anyone.

    Positive

It perhaps can back up some files at some point, so I guess that's a positive thing. Takes a long time, and I never waited long enough to finish, but I suppose by the end of the month it might have backed up a bunch of my files. That's about the best I can say about it.

    Negative

Terrible UI, terrible support, terrible speed, terrible reviews. I don't see the point in listing in detail all these things because it should be clear what terrible support means (poor or no communication), terrible speed means (slow), terrible UI means (unclear, hard to use), etc.

Worst Backup Software Ever CBACKUP Terrible

    Updated: May 21 2022
    Summary

Not only poorest backup software I have used, but probably in my 40 years of using computers and tech, this is possibly the worst software architecture i have ever seen at all. Beware DO NOT USE CBACKUP it has no interface or functionality. Support after a couple of replies said, "your files are broken, CBACKUP no work for you." Period.

    Positive

The fact that it is basically free is i guess a Pro, but this would only be a pro if the software worked at all and if there was any existing support for it.

    Negative

Submitted several emails to support with very, very limited response! Not finding the service to be supported nor with functionality that can reliably do the backup
    1. Backup was interrupted and not restarted cause FAILURE. Support said just must have lost your internet connection? ! They offer no solutions
    2. Started a new backup, old one still there cannot delete? I asked support, no answer
    3. New Back up task started after 4 days trying to backup hard drive, only 20GB is backed up, could take months to back up the hard drive at that rate. Unacceptable - emailed support no answer.
    4. Support says "24/7/365" they do not reply, only in the middle of the night at 3am, no chat or "real time" support. MISLEADING. Only email support from Singapore at 3am
    5. The software is WEAK, and the interface is so SIMPLE and DUMBED DOWN you cannot see the files, the progress is confusing ("counting files" is all it says, what could this mean to the user, this is all the info the user sees)
    6. The online WEB based CBackup doesn't give much of an idea of how the backup is going and progress, just one number of size wow this is staggering little information what badly organized software architecture and function SO LIMITED.
Save yourself a lot of trouble this is a real scam. Positive reviews on their website seem to be fake generated by the company themselves (Paid Advertorials) .

    Poor excuse for backup

    Date: Aug 16 2022
    Summary

Overall, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. This is extremely poor software, and by extension, I must assume the backup back office is as chaotic as the customer-facing interface. I found this site while looking for another backup solution, and thought I'd stop and warn whomever reads this. Don't walk, RUN from CBackup. It is not worth anyone's time or headache. The search continues.

    Positive

I LIKED the idea of a backup solution that, in addition to my onsite backup, gave me an offsite backup. So, CBackup does that -- backs up files to a cloud. I have had occasion to restore files, so I have to believe that files ARE being stored somewhere.

    Negative

The other reviewers covered this pretty well, so I won't belabor the points they made. The awful support is the worst part of the whole ordeal of using this software. If the software had been written correctly, for an average human to use, one wouldn't need to seek out support at all, but it's not. I honestly don't know what the thought processes of the programmers were in writing this software. "If this, then that" seems to have not been a consideration. Why should one have to re-login to software on their own machine at all, let alone every week or so. I could not get a straight answer to this -- it, apparently, just is. How do I delete past versions in the cloud to make more space? Oh, you can't really, because the setting for that, which they instruct on the website, doesn't exist in the software. I could go on....
