Is Not Advanced With Clover POS
Date: May 31 2024SummaryWe signed our business with Checkmate (fka ItsACheckmate) because they touted a good integration process and was very affordable. Remember the adage, "you get what you pay for"! Checkmate is not very good with multiple modifiers. If your business is simple and doesn't require options for your customer, I can see how their business would work for you. They say that their largest market is with Wendys, a fast food company, that doesn't enable much changes to their menu items. The biggest issue that we had is that they kept delaying and saying that they had issues with our POS system, yet each day, multiple items kept disappearing from our 3rd party apps. We believed their inadequency that they would fix the problem until I finally snapped about 3.5 weeks in and demanded we cancel their service. It took 3 more emails for them to finally disconnect from our 3rd party apps, even though they kept saying in the first email that they would. It took multiple calls from the 3rd party apps who said that they couldn't disconnect us without Checkmate's help. We are now using a new integration company who has no problem mapping with our Clover POS and we are making sales again. We are a small family restaurant, single location, and many of our customers would call and complain that their favorite dish was not available to order, and it was all because of Checkmate as we could not take control until they cancelled their part.

Date: Jul 03 2022SummaryI've had ItsaCheckmate for our restaurant for about 3 months and it has been an incredible headache. I am constantly contacting their customer service on an almost daily basis. Because of the many issues I have had with this company, they gave me 3 months for free, but I honestly would not recommend this company, even if it was a free service. Their customer service department lacks basic knowledge of how different POS systems work and lack accountability. If you like having your time wasted and a system that works some of the time, try ItsaCheckmate, they are great and over promising and under delivering.
PositiveIt seems like it could work but it does not. I think if someone had a simple restaurant with no modifiers that it would be great, but restaurants do not really work that way.
