    We are a small mom and pop shop but thousands of different products varying from craft beer to cigars to homebrew and winemaking supplies. For over 20 years we used old cash registers and my wife and I purchased the store in 2022 and implemented the first every POS used at the store, which is Korona. This was scary to make the change but it is super user friendly and the customer support is phenomenal. I highly recommend Korona POS!

    Software Devolution Continues to Amaze

    What started off as a bit quirky but workable solution has devolved in the past few years into an intolerable mess. Our employees complain about features they rely on being removed, or 5x as many mouse clicks to do the same things. We always accept that SW isn't perfect but generally the direction is to improve. That is not the case with Korona.

    Positive

    Cloud based, feature rich, handles multi-tier pricing (retail, commercial, etc). Mostly good uptime.

    Negative

    SW does not handle Net terms, does not talk to QuickBooks. Lots of accounting irregularities.
    Korona keeps taking away features we use daily such as checking stock levels and store pricing. Now we have to "Edit Product" to see the sales prices and customers will see our purchase prices when checking stock levels on the POS screen.
    Ongoing bugs such as if you receive inventory at $0 (replacements, etc) then the COGS does not adjust at all.
    Releases happen without notice, not even a scant of release notes, requires frequent reworking of our user docs and employee training.
    In 5+ years as a multi-store chain, they have never once polled us for feature requests. Requests we've submitted are summarily dismissed.

    Our Small Business and Korona POS

    Overall Korona POS has been a great match for our business. Although there are a few things that we wish were different the system and the support are excellent.

    Positive

    Our store has been using Korona POS and it has made running our business easier. The system allows for us to enter and remove things from inventory easily and frequently. When we have hiccups we are able to reach their customer service who is responsive and quick with answers. The installation was not too difficult to complete. Our employees use the system every day and have very little trouble using it.

    Negative

    The back end of the system is not as accessible for general users. You need a higher lever of technology skill set to work the back end of the system, which we run into issues with when people are not used to or have not been directly taught how to run the system. Another thing that would be nice is creating a program where you can update your equipment i.e. the computer/physical POS. It would be nice if there was a way to return old equipment to update to new equipment without having to pay outright for the new stuff.

    Great overall experience. Don't think you can find a better value for the money out there. Inventory management aspect is great and like I said Customer Service is outstanding. If I am out of town my employees have been able to call the support line and the KORONA staff has been able to help night or day.

    Great Value for the money and Customer Service is the best I have come across. Credit Card machine integrates with software so it removes potential for human error by typing in total on the machine and having to reconcile credit card reports.

    Just like any software, there is always a learning curve. Whenever I have not been able to figure out how to do something on my own, Korona support has always provided quick and effective responses. They have never made me feel like they were frustrated or put out with me.

    Fantastic Customer Support. We were having issues with the way our initial internet configuration. It was not a static IP Address and our credit card machine, which is integrated with Korona, would keep dropping out. It took two days to get switched with our internet provider to a static ip address. Korona was very patient and willing to help me do whatever it took to get the cc machines back up until we were able to get a static IP address and fix the issue.

    Very happy with my decision to use this software and track the performance if my remote stores. well worth the money. I chose it because it did not require a payment processor. Highly recommend it.

    Not much. I would love to get a few more reports to help compare stock at branches and also compare current stock with stock sold in past period. I have been able to create these reports myself by exporting data to excel it just takes a few extra steps.
