What is Klipper?

A clipboard is typically intended for copying a particular text section to be pasted elsewhere, which results in the replacement of previously copied content. Klipper effectively overcomes this limitation by ensuring that the most recently copied item is available for pasting while retaining earlier selections in a buffer for later use, enabling you to choose the order in which to paste them. Moreover, users have the flexibility to set the number of items retained in this buffer according to their preferences. By clicking the corresponding icon in your system tray or panel, you can view a comprehensive list of stored selections along with various configuration options. Among these options, two important settings found on the general tab include the choice to start the clipboard with an empty state or to retain items from previous sessions, as well as the ability to synchronize clipboard content with the selection. Additionally, for those involved in programming or scripting, this area allows for the configuration of actions utilizing regular expressions. This capability significantly streamlines workflow processes by enabling customized clipboard management tailored to individual needs, significantly enhancing productivity in various tasks.
