Horrible. Do not recommend
Date: Jan 08 2025SummaryAbsolutely horrible. Customer support is nearly impossible to contact and when you do get a hold of them they're lazy, only offering up self help options. My server was dead locked and wouldn't start, they claimed it was mods. I removed all the mods and it still took nearly two days to hear anything back from the tier 2 techs after already waiting several days. This problem has been ongoing since 1-3-25 and still hasn't been resolved. They also will not issue a credit when they are at fault. Essentially they like to steal money. Sadly I reached out to one of they're competitors and they were more helpful than Nitrado even when they didn't have to be. If you're looking for game server hosting I would not recommend Nitrado. In fact they could offer me a year subscription for free and I would pass.
I recommend havoc game server hosting. Responds to tickets within 10 minutes, even at a low priority. They offer more options to improve game play on the server, ie more memory dedication and a higher CPU usage. They are slightly more expensive with advanced options, but still considered cheap and server slot is nearly quadrupled. Havoc Hosting is by far more superior than Nitrado.PositiveThere is nothing positive to say about this hosting services. Everything is horrible, from quality to tech support its all bad.

No customer service bad servers and crooks

I knew it was a bad idea to do it in the first place but they are the only ones that have ark survival ascendant because they monopolized it. Done with this company and done with ark. If you want a server that sometimes works and is really chubby and has to be reset twice a day with no customer service and not even some sympathy with a customer who has not been able to play for a full month this is the company and server for you!
PositiveI did like that they had Arc survival ascendant servers even though they are monopolizing them I guess that's the only pro.
NegativeThe ark survival ascendant server that I bought from them did not work it was working at one time and then stopped and would not start up I tried everything Google was more helpful than their customer service was for one full month I put in four support tickets all I ever got back was just restart your server which was absolutely no help so when I got a refund through PayPal Nitrado charged my Nintendo account -$ so in my account it shows I owe them money.

AVOID - Poor interfaces and bad/deceptive business practices
Date: Feb 26 2024SummaryThey deliberately obfuscate how to adjust and save turning auto-renewal off. They will argue on policy and terms with you during cancellation to scrape an extra month of charges out of you and block a refund. Read everything carefully if you do choose to use them. Any charges as credit you will never get back. They will charge you for credit purchases over the total cost of the service, then leave the excess credit in the account which you cannot use or be refunded and they will just claim after 3 years of not using it. Better services offered from other companies with less deceptive or sleazy business practices.
I will never use them again. Go read up on their employee reviews if you are curious why they behave this way.PositiveServer stability and patching process has improved. I have tried them three times in the last 4 years (Astroneer Server, Valheim Server, and Enshrouded Server).

Poor customer support

I have decided to extend the server for 30 more days, and I am trying to charge my account now, error codes are coming up even though I am pretty sure I am doing everything correctly, I am trying to contact support via ticket, but ticket also runs error code, I am simply unable to get in touch with anyone from support, joined their disord, same thing there, I am unable to create ticket there either, guys seriously, I am a paying customer who is fine with your product and I just need simple assistance with payment.

I was paying for a monthly subscription for Ark Survival Ascended. The server was regularly difficult to manage, and had some of the worst UI interface mechanics I have EVER experienced. The server experience was enough to make my friends dislike the entire Ark game, and only 2 people even tried to stick with the server.
On top of that, I attempted to cancel the automatic extension of my server, and several hours after I had cancelled, I got charged for the server anyway. They are refusing to give me a refund, stating that their Terms of Service do not allow for refunds of automatics extensions. Even if the Automatic Extension was cancelled, they will not refund a false charge. I have spent the last 5 days arguing with their customer service who refuses to give me a refund, so now I'm now going through my credit card company to dispute the charge because they are so horrible with their customer service. -

Date: Nov 27 2024SummaryI emailed them 2.5 hours after the auto renewal charge went through and I was told they will not refund the money. They say its their policy and its in the terms and conditions. Regardless of that fact, Nitrado knows exactly what they are doing, which is stealing money from customers who forget to turn off their subscriptions, Which I might add are set to auto renew when you rent the service, are not intuitive to turn off, And give NO notice ahead of time to let you know its coming do soon.
SO if you really need a server and can deal with a shady money stealing company then the servers were fine. But id sugest looking in to other options. They will also suggest upgrading ram has no effect on your server. Their employees are incompetent and childish and will insult your intelligence, lead you on, and lie to get every nickel they can.
PositiveI enjoyed how calmly Nitrado representatives would lie to me as they would say they are shutting down/moving/troubleshooting my server as it sits running at 300+ ping in the same location for 90 days.
NegativeServers would often be unresponsive on initial instillation, over 3+ years time. High latencies, corruption rampant. Customer service will tell you they are reinstalling/moving/troubleshooting a server and nothing is being done. Customer service will argue with you, be rude, and lie. Have wasted good money sitting on servers waiting for assistance on 300+ ping servers. Downtimes and errors are a common occurrence, and compensation is never given.

It’s so difficult to find my server

I play on I looked up forums, tried getting help from Nitrado itself and no one answered and videos nothing helped. It’s incredibly frustrating. Ordering a servers for months till year in advance is not a wise here. If you will not longer need your game servers, They will charge you 50% of all your remaining money you invested into them.
You will receive credit but that credit they won’t refund to your bank account. You may only order another game server (what a joke charging (stealing) 50% from your account money you may use to order another game server from them only)
If you want a game server from Nitrado, never pay more than for 1 month in advance. Never pay them like I did, for 3 months or years in advance. -

Joined their Discord server and they deleted my support ticket just like that. I wrote in the Discord ticket that I'm getting disconnected every 30 minutes and gave them my server ID and URL in a really good manner but they didn't even explain what I can do or take any action. They deleted the ticket straightaway. Real professional.

The worst customer service experience ever
Date: May 04 2022SummaryThe experience with Nitrado's customer support was horrific customer service and completely unhelpful. Our server was brought down multiple times over multiple days unexpectedly through a fully server-side initiated save and shut down, not a crash. I proved through the logs that the server did not crash, the technician refused to believe this and insisted on the issue being with the discord bot. All the modified dates of every file on the server was reset to the current time of the shutdown. This leads me to believe the server was shutdown with no notice to copy our files from one machine to another, interrupting our service with no notice. this is poor business practice and caused detrimental effects to our playerbase.
When asked to escalate to a supervisor on the phone, the technician refused and insisted that there were no managers in the call center. When pressed, he said he would check if his supervisor would take the call and then proceeded to tell me that they refused to take the call and we would have to wait 2 business days to hear from the development team, which the ticket was never actually escalated to, and the technician continued to insist on the issue being our mods. The technician was unprofessional, lazy and refused to give any help beyond blaming our mods, which worked without issue on our local server and our previous host.
He also claimed there are no surveys to give feedback on about the customer's experience with support. In my 8 years working at call centers, I've never seen a technical support call center not have a survey to fill out. After this experience, I reached out to support to file a formal complaint on this technician, this was never done despite being assured it was. I posted on Nitrado's forums of this experience only to have my forum account banned for speaking out about their customer service with no reason being given to why I was banned. I had to reach out to a volunteer moderator to find out any information, which they let me know that the reason the account was banned was because complaints need to be directed through support tickets or calling support, which was the whole problem to begin with.
To any managers that read this, I am extremely dissatisfied with my entire experience with Nitrado as we paid double over our previous host and received worse performance, worse customer service and no tools to monitor our server at all. I do not recommend renting servers with Nitrado.PositiveNothing. There was not a single positive comment to make about this service that I could legitimately think of.

They are double the price of our last host, they didn't respond to a ticket in over 3 days despite 24hr turn around time and had to reach out via phone support just to talk to someone and I wish I had never talked to the technician that answered the phone.
