What is Beatzille?

Beatzille acts as a more compact alternative to the expansive Bazille modular synthesizer. Often referred to as the ‘little sibling’ due to its reduced functionalities, Beatzille still stands out as an intriguing and adaptable instrument, exhibiting the same vigor and flair as its bigger sibling. Equipped with digital oscillators and analog-style filters, along with numerous patching possibilities, this synthesizer can captivate your creativity for an extended period before you feel ready to tackle Bazille. Striking a harmonious balance between complexity and ease of use, Beatzille provides an approachable gateway into the world of modular synthesis while still hinting at Bazille's remarkable potential without being intimidating. All three synthesis types can function simultaneously, allowing for a blend of sounds that opens up a broad spectrum of sonic exploration. Furthermore, Beatzille excels at crafting distinctive modular bleeps and squawks, as well as producing lush pads and organic keyboard tones, which can be observed in the factory library. The introduction of modulation further broadens its sonic range, transforming Beatzille into a genuinely versatile asset for music production. No matter if you are just starting or have years of experience, this instrument is bound to spark your creativity and encourage experimentation throughout your musical endeavors. Its user-friendly design coupled with powerful capabilities makes it a valuable tool for anyone looking to dive deeper into sound exploration.

What is AudioKit Synth One?

AudioKit Synth One emerges as the first entirely free and open-source professional synthesizer app for iOS, developed by a dedicated group of volunteers committed to creating an all-inclusive, ad-free music production platform. The application features a complex hybrid analog/FM polyphonic synthesizer capable of six voices, and offers a remarkable collection of over 300 presets crafted by renowned sound designers, while also incorporating accessibility options like VoiceOver for users with visual disabilities. It integrates smoothly with Audiobus 3 and Inter-app Audio (IAA), and is fully compatible with leading music production software such as AUM, BeatMaker 3, Cubasis, and GarageBand. The sophisticated sound engine comprises five oscillators and two adaptable LFOs, allowing for a wide range of routing options, along with a nostalgic 16-step sequencer. Additionally, it comes with a classic polyphonic arpeggiator and supports Ableton Link, giving users responsive touch controls for ADSR envelopes related to amplitude and filtering effects, complemented by a four-pole vintage low-pass filter, high-pass/band-pass filters, and various effects including reverb and multi-tap delay. Beyond these capabilities, MIDI integration allows the app to be manipulated via MIDI keyboards or digital audio workstations, enhancing its functionality for musicians and producers. This remarkable array of features positions AudioKit Synth One as an invaluable resource for music creators eager to delve into sound synthesis without the constraints of financial cost, ultimately fostering creativity and experimentation in music production.
