What is Control Plane?

Control Plane keeps production apps and AI agents running when a zone, region, or cloud provider fails. It combines AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, neoclouds, existing Kubernetes clusters, and bare metal into one Global Virtual Cloud. You pick the locations, every workload runs active-active across all of them, and a built-in global endpoint routes each request to the nearest healthy location. Teams run serverless, standard, stateful, cron, and virtual machine workloads from the container images they already have. Universal Cloud Identity gives workloads short-lived, least-privilege access to 600+ cloud services without long-lived keys. Day-two operations come built in, including autoscaling, Capacity AI right-sizing, logs, metrics, and traces, mutual TLS, secrets management, and a tamper-proof audit trail. The 99.999% availability SLA applies to workloads running at least two replicas in at least two locations, and customers typically cut compute costs 30 to 50 percent versus running directly on a hyperscaler.

What is Azure Stack Edge?

Efficiently manage your workloads and gain instant actionable insights directly from the data source with Azure Stack Edge, which provides hardware-as-a-service customized to fit your specific requirements. You have the convenience of ordering your device through the Azure portal with a subscription payment model that is billed on a monthly basis. Experience a seamless interface that connects cloud and edge, enabling you to set up, monitor, and upgrade your Azure Stack Edge through the same management tools and development resources you use with Azure. You can deploy containerized applications and virtual machines precisely at the edge, right where data is produced and collected. This allows for local processing, transformation, and filtering of data, ensuring that only essential information is sent to the cloud for further analysis or storage. Additionally, you can enhance and build your machine learning models using Azure or utilize Azure Cognitive Services, capitalizing on the integrated NVIDIA T4 GPU or Intel VPU found in the Mini R to significantly enhance local performance. This configuration not only refines your data management practices but also simplifies your entire cloud computing approach, leading to improved operational efficiency. By leveraging Azure Stack Edge, businesses can achieve a competitive advantage through rapid data insights and streamlined processes.
