What is EasyCarve?

Effortlessly and quickly craft 3D models on your CNC machine with EasyCarve, a software developed by Design & Make that boasts a vast library containing over 7,000 3D relief models compatible with CNC. The application walks you through a simple process: choose a 3D model you like, select the material and tools you will use, create and review your toolpaths, and finally, export them for your CNC machine's carving task. Once you have loaded your selected model, you can adjust your material and tooling settings to ensure the toolpaths are precise. It is important to check these toolpaths through a preview to confirm they align with your expectations prior to saving and exporting them. With all settings optimized, you can move on to your CNC machine and initiate the carving process. The variety of model styles, such as cut-out, dish, and recessed, enables you to effortlessly add 3D features into both new designs and existing ones, further expanding your creative horizons. This flexibility not only enhances your projects but also inspires innovative ideas for future endeavors.

What is Cut3D?

Cut3D is a dedicated toolpath generator designed specifically for CNC machining, optimized for 3D models created in applications like AutoCAD, Rhino3D, and 3D Studio, as well as those acquired through laser or touch probe scanning methods. The software features an intuitive interface that walks users through key processes such as loading models, resizing them, placing tabs to stabilize the workpiece, and producing both roughing and finishing toolpaths, accommodating single, double, or four-sided machining. Once the paths are calculated, users can preview the results and subsequently save the CNC code, ready for use on their machinery. To address 3D models that are too large for machining constraints such as gantry height or cutter length, Cut3D provides a 'slicing' feature that divides these models into smaller segments for easy machining, which can later be assembled. Additionally, the software includes strong import filters that work with most industry-standard mesh file formats to ensure flexibility in handling various models, along with standard postprocessors suitable for nearly all CNC machine control systems. This extensive functionality positions Cut3D as an essential tool for those seeking to perform complex machining tasks with efficiency and precision. Ultimately, the software's combination of user-friendliness and comprehensive features solidifies its place as an invaluable resource in the CNC machining industry.
