What is Flux?

Flux is online PCB design software for hardware startups, electronics engineers, and product teams. Teams can develop schematics, lay out printed circuit boards, run simulations, and check design rules in a web browser, without installing a desktop EDA application. The AI assistant supports component research, schematic generation from a plain-language circuit description, component placement, trace routing, and design review. Engineers remain responsible for setting constraints and approving the final design. Flux supports simultaneous editing, project comments, and access permissions for collaborative hardware development. Teams can reuse community designs and parts, check live component prices and availability, and prepare manufacturing outputs including Gerber, BOM, and pick-and-place files. For migration, Flux imports Altium ASCII and Cadence EDIF schematic files, plus KiCad component libraries. PCB layouts are not included in these imports. Trial access includes a limited AI allowance. After the trial, editing or exporting private projects and using AI require a paid subscription. AI usage is metered in Agent Compute Units (ACUs), with included allowances varying by plan. Public-project and community access remain available.

What is Altium Agile Enterprise?

Altium Agile Enterprise is an all-encompassing platform designed for electronics design and product development, effectively bridging the gap between PCB design workflows and enterprise systems through meticulously structured and scalable processes. It combines Altium Designer with the Altium 365 cloud platform, offering flexibility with deployment options in cloud, GovCloud, and on-premises settings. Among its key features are collaborative PCB co-authoring, co-design capabilities for ECAD and MCAD, version control with an audit trail, lifecycle management, requirements management, customizable workflows, and a dedicated portal for managing manufacturing releases. The platform also supports smooth integrations with various PLM systems, including Arena, Windchill, Oracle Agile, Aras Innovator, and Teamcenter, as well as connections to Jira and ERP systems, while utilizing component and supply chain data sourced from SiliconExpert and Z2Data. Furthermore, it implements strong security protocols, such as single sign-on (SSO), IP allowlisting, and the management of groups, workspaces, and external contributors. Importantly, Altium 365 GovCloud meets ITAR and EAR compliance requirements, ensuring that its functionalities adhere to rigorous regulatory standards. This holistic framework empowers organizations to enhance their design operations while ensuring compliance and fostering collaboration among diverse teams, ultimately driving innovation in their projects.
