What is FreeMILL?

FreeMILL is a no-cost milling module that functions within our commercial CNC software, tailored specifically for programming CNC mills and routers. This completely free CAM software places no limits on duration, attempts, file saving, or lines of code! Users are empowered to generate toolpaths that guide the cutting tool along a series of parallel planes to achieve their desired shapes. Moreover, it facilitates the creation of both Roughing and Finishing toolpaths and offers comprehensive simulation capabilities for cutting and material processes. One of its notable features is the ability to output G-code compatible with your chosen CNC milling machine. Established in 1997, MecSoft Corporation stands at the forefront of developing both standalone and integrated CAD/CAM software solutions that serve the needs of the subtractive (CNC machining) and additive (3D printing) manufacturing industries. With its headquarters located in Irvine, CA, MecSoft is dedicated to delivering user-friendly, robust, and economical CAD/CAM software that addresses the various demands of its clientele. Their unwavering commitment to innovation guarantees that customers have access to excellent support and continually updated technology, ensuring a seamless experience. This dedication sets them apart in the competitive landscape of CAD/CAM software development.

What is Cut3D?

Cut3D is a dedicated toolpath generator designed specifically for CNC machining, optimized for 3D models created in applications like AutoCAD, Rhino3D, and 3D Studio, as well as those acquired through laser or touch probe scanning methods. The software features an intuitive interface that walks users through key processes such as loading models, resizing them, placing tabs to stabilize the workpiece, and producing both roughing and finishing toolpaths, accommodating single, double, or four-sided machining. Once the paths are calculated, users can preview the results and subsequently save the CNC code, ready for use on their machinery. To address 3D models that are too large for machining constraints such as gantry height or cutter length, Cut3D provides a 'slicing' feature that divides these models into smaller segments for easy machining, which can later be assembled. Additionally, the software includes strong import filters that work with most industry-standard mesh file formats to ensure flexibility in handling various models, along with standard postprocessors suitable for nearly all CNC machine control systems. This extensive functionality positions Cut3D as an essential tool for those seeking to perform complex machining tasks with efficiency and precision. Ultimately, the software's combination of user-friendliness and comprehensive features solidifies its place as an invaluable resource in the CNC machining industry.
