What is Headroom?

Headroom is a desktop application tailored for developers and engineering teams that leverage Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, and other compatible coding-agent workflows. This software operates on local machines, facilitating the management of repetitive tool outputs, logs, large documents, and additional prompt context, which allows users to easily access their original files whenever needed. The application includes connectors for various supported agents and features a user dashboard along with an activity feed to track token usage and estimate API costs, while also gathering essential project insights to improve agent instruction files. Users have the option to incorporate add-ons that enable one-click summarization of terminal outputs, document transformations, code navigation, repository memory, library documentation searches, and more concise agent responses. Headroom is available as a desktop application compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux, alongside a free command-line version that can be utilized independently. This flexibility positions Headroom as a crucial asset for streamlining coding workflows and boosting productivity in software development. Additionally, its user-friendly interface ensures that both novice and experienced developers can easily integrate it into their existing processes.

What is Emdash?

Emdash is a free, open-source agentic development environment that provides tools for orchestrating AI coding agents across multiple software development tasks. The desktop application runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux and supports numerous command-line coding assistants, including Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, Amp, Antigravity, and OpenCode. Developers can create separate tasks and assign different AI agents to implement features, investigate bugs, refactor applications, or review existing code. Each task uses an isolated Git worktree and branch, allowing multiple agents to modify the same repository without directly conflicting over working files. The platform maintains task-specific terminal sessions, agent conversations, and review information within a centralized interface. Its built-in file editor allows users to browse, search, modify, and recover source files directly within their development workspaces. Emdash includes an integrated browser for previewing local applications, remote development servers, and public web pages while working on coding tasks. Git management capabilities support reviewing code diffs, staging changes, creating commits, pushing branches, opening pull requests, and monitoring GitHub Actions checks. Scheduled automation features enable recurring agent executions for activities such as code reviews, bug sweeps, dependency maintenance, and release preparation. The software connects with Linear, Jira, GitHub, Notion, Asana, and other project management services while providing a library for reusable prompts, agent skills, and Model Context Protocol servers. Remote execution capabilities support SSH-connected development machines and provisioned workspaces, with persistent terminal sessions and isolated environments for managing agents across local and remote infrastructure.
