What is Microsoft Storage Spaces?

Storage Spaces is a Windows and Windows Server feature aimed at protecting your data from hard drive malfunctions. Functioning similarly to RAID, it serves as a software-based solution. This feature allows users to merge three or more drives into a unified storage pool, which can then be divided into individual Storage Spaces. These spaces usually keep several copies of your data, providing a safeguard so that in the event of a drive failure, your information remains protected. Should you need more storage, adding extra drives to your existing pool is a straightforward process. Storage Spaces can be implemented in four main ways: on a regular Windows PC, on a standalone server that houses all the storage internally, on a clustered server that employs Storage Spaces Direct with local drives linked to each cluster node, and on a clustered server that uses one or more shared SAS storage enclosures for all drives. This flexibility not only accommodates the expansion of volumes on Azure Stack HCI but also enhances clusters operating on Windows Server, facilitating adaptable and robust data management. Ultimately, by utilizing these diverse configurations, users can customize their storage setups to align with their unique requirements effectively.

What is C2 Storage?

Leverage Hyper Backup to protect your Synology NAS data in the cloud or synchronize vital information between C2 Storage and remote offices through Hybrid Share. C2 Storage is expertly designed to guarantee that your NAS data remains protected and easily accessible at all times. Synology acts as your single point of contact for all matters, including service consulting, technical support, and hardware warranty concerns. The pricing model is crafted to be flexible, offering both monthly and annual plans with transparency, as there are no hidden fees or additional charges for data transfer or downloads; you only pay for the cloud storage you use. Client-side AES-256 encryption is implemented to ensure that your data is secure from unauthorized access before it even exits your NAS. Accessing your backups securely involves a password-protected private key, which ensures that only you have the ability to decrypt, access, and adjust your data. By performing backups from your Synology NAS to C2 Storage, you can achieve secure, deduplicated, and version-controlled backups in the cloud, enhancing both peace of mind and reliability for your crucial information. This thorough approach not only boosts data security but also streamlines backup management, making it easier for users to keep track of their important files and system states. As such, you can rest assured knowing that your data is in safe hands, ready to be restored whenever necessary.
