What is Opal Security?

Opal Security is an identity governance platform that helps organizations manage and enforce access decisions across human and non-human identities. The platform is designed to govern employees, contractors, AI agents, copilots, service accounts, applications, and infrastructure from a unified control layer. Opal evaluates access requests against policy and risk signals to help organizations enforce least privilege and reduce unnecessary standing access. Its Paladin AI engine can review requests, make or recommend decisions, explain the reasoning behind those decisions, and escalate uncertain cases to human reviewers. Just-in-time access enables privileged permissions to be granted for a limited period and then revoked automatically once the work is complete. AI-assisted access reviews analyze individual entitlements and available evidence to help reviewers determine whether permissions should be maintained or removed. Opal also extends governance to AI agents and autonomous systems by controlling what those identities can view, access, and execute. The platform maintains searchable audit records of access changes and administrative actions so organizations can trace who or what received access, when it changed, and how the decision was made. Audit data can be exported to external systems such as SIEM platforms or Amazon S3 to support compliance and security operations. Opal can run as a hosted service or be deployed in customer-controlled environments including virtual machines and Kubernetes, supporting organizations with strict infrastructure and regulatory requirements. Enterprise security features include SOC 2 Type 2 certification, annual penetration testing, monthly vulnerability scanning, encryption in transit and at rest, US and EU hosting options, and support for GDPR and CCPA requirements.

What is Netwrix Identity Manager?

Netwrix Identity Manager is an advanced identity governance and administration platform that helps organizations manage, secure, and control digital identities across their IT environments. It provides a centralized system for handling access to applications, data, and systems for employees, contractors, and non-human identities. The platform automates identity lifecycle management, including onboarding, role changes, and offboarding, using structured workflows and policies. This automation reduces manual administrative work while ensuring consistent and accurate access provisioning. Netwrix Identity Manager helps identify and mitigate risks such as excessive permissions, dormant accounts, and segregation of duties conflicts. It supports compliance by enabling access reviews, certifications, and audit-ready reporting aligned with regulatory requirements. The platform integrates with directories, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications through a wide range of connectors. It also offers flexible deployment options, allowing organizations to operate in cloud, on-premise, or hybrid environments. Role-based access control and AI-assisted role modeling improve how permissions are assigned and managed. The solution provides visibility into identity activity and access patterns across systems. Automation features help streamline identity processes and improve operational efficiency. Netwrix Identity Manager is scalable, making it suitable for organizations of different sizes and complexity levels. By combining governance, automation, and integration capabilities, it helps organizations maintain secure and compliant identity management practices.
