What is PDN Analyzer?

The PDN Analyzer tool from Altium seamlessly integrates with Altium Designer, enabling users to efficiently identify and resolve problems like inadequate or excessive copper and unpredictable voltage drops. Additionally, it can pinpoint issues such as low voltage at key power points, copper islands, or peninsulas that may affect the performance of your PCB's power system. The PDN encompasses the complete power distribution network for active circuits on printed circuit boards, including all connections between the voltage regulator module, the metallization pads, and the integrated device dies responsible for power supply and return. To ensure that the power delivery network adheres to the IC supply voltage requirements, every segment must be scrutinized. An accurate validation of your power budget requires careful consideration of the minimum and maximum device specifications, potential worst-case voltage drops, cumulative return-path currents, and additional factors. With PDN Analyzer, you receive precise insights into the locations of these issues, facilitating a more effective design process. By addressing these concerns, designers can enhance the reliability and efficiency of their power delivery systems.

What is Eaton CYME?

Eaton's CYME software suite provides advanced modeling and simulation capabilities for distribution systems, addressing all aspects of network development from the initial planning phase to the enhancement of operational efficiency, protective measures, and the incorporation of distributed energy resources. This software adeptly models both medium- and low-voltage distribution feeders along with related equipment, including allowances for distributed energy resources and substations. It promotes thorough analysis, effective task scheduling, and insightful visualization to assist with system growth and asset management. Users can design specialized applications for conducting distribution capacity analyses, optimizing networks, and evaluating contingency and reliability scenarios. Moreover, the software's functionality can be amplified through automation features and customizable scripting options. Its accurate design and modeling capabilities allow users to create comprehensive views by integrating interconnected HV/MV substations and sub-transmission networks, which can be displayed on geo-referenced maps for a more accurate depiction of the network. This thorough and adaptable strategy ultimately enables utilities to proficiently oversee their distribution systems while responding to changing energy demands and advancements in technology. As a result, the CYME suite serves as an essential tool for utilities aiming to improve their operational strategies and enhance service delivery.
