PathSolutions TotalView vs. BMC Helix Network Management

TotalView provides comprehensive network monitoring and straightforward root-cause analysis of issues, using clear, accessible language. This solution tracks every device and all interfaces associated with those devices, ensuring nothing is overlooked. Furthermore, TotalView delves deep by gathering 19 different error counters, along with performance metrics, configuration details, and connectivity data, allowing for a holistic view of the network. An integrated heuristics engine processes this wealth of information to deliver clear, easily understandable insights into problems. With this system, even junior engineers can tackle complex issues, freeing up senior engineers to concentrate on higher-level strategic initiatives. The main product encompasses all essential tools required for maintaining an optimally functioning network, including configuration management, server and cloud service monitoring, IP address management (IPAM), NetFlow analysis, path mapping, and diagramming capabilities. By utilizing TotalView, you can achieve complete visibility of your network, enabling you to resolve issues more swiftly and efficiently, ultimately enhancing overall network performance.

BMC Helix Network Management is an enterprise network observability and diagnostics solution designed to help organizations improve network performance, administration, and service reliability. Formerly Netreo, the platform gives IT teams visibility into network health, bandwidth usage, interface trends, device performance, service availability, and operational issues. It helps simplify network administration through automation, customization, integration, automated device onboarding, and configuration workflows. These capabilities help improve data accuracy, team efficiency, business continuity, and system performance across complex network environments. BMC Helix Network Management provides personalized dashboards and reports that turn network data into actionable insights for operations and engineering teams. Its self-tuning capabilities and automated recommendations help teams identify precise optimization opportunities while still allowing manual control where needed. The platform can send network incidents into BMC Helix so teams can correlate network information with broader IT data for a more complete view of application and service health. Intelligent alerting uses anomaly detection to reduce false alarms, identify the real source of issues, and improve incident prioritization. Automated service re-testing helps confirm whether failures are still active before teams spend time investigating them. Root cause analysis, incident correlation, and automated issue resolution workflows help reduce alert fatigue and shorten mean time to resolution. By combining network observability, diagnostics, automation, anomaly detection, incident correlation, dashboards, and BMC Helix integration, BMC Helix Network Management helps enterprises run more reliable and efficient networks.
