What is Phonon?

Phonon is an open-weight text-to-speech (TTS) model and inference runtime that caters to developers who wish to integrate speech generation into applications with local and offline audio functionalities. This cutting-edge system converts written text into spoken words and can stream speech in real-time as it is generated. It provides interfaces for programming languages such as Rust and Python, includes a Swift package for iOS and macOS, offers JavaScript support for web browsers, and has libraries available for Android; it can also operate as a self-hosted server compatible with OpenAI's API. The model is designed to support various languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese, depending on the specific variant employed. Phonon is ideal for developers looking to embed speech capabilities into mobile, desktop, web, embedded, and server applications, particularly in situations that prioritize offline use or require enhanced privacy. The English model is comprised of 31 million parameters and is licensed under Apache 2.0, while the language-specific and multilingual models, with 40 million parameters, are available under CC BY-NC 4.0. Furthermore, the runtime's source code is offered under either the Apache 2.0 or MIT licenses, ensuring it is accessible for diverse development requirements. This adaptability and extensive support position Phonon as a highly versatile option for speech synthesis across a variety of platforms, making it a valuable asset for developers in the field.

What is Echo Live?

For streamers, gaming creators and people who use voice chat, Echo Live puts voice changing, custom effects, sound cues and speech generation in one desktop workspace. It is available on Windows 10/11 x64 and Apple Silicon Mac, with a free version and optional paid Pro features. A practical audio workflow Choose an AI voice for live conversations, or shape a custom voice with Voice Lab. Pitch and formant controls, harmonizer, reverb and delay let you assemble effect chains for different characters and creative situations. Live voice processing runs locally; the selected model and computer hardware affect performance. Build a library of moments Import your own audio clips, arrange them into soundboards and use keyboard shortcuts to play them during games or broadcasts. Text-to-speech adds another way to create spoken material: enter a script, use a downloadable speech model and replay generated clips. Optional RVC character processing is also available. Getting started A free Echo account is required. Guided setup helps configure the microphone and audio routing for applications such as Discord or a streaming workflow using OBS. Visit voicechanger.live for downloads and setup information. Language coverage There are 13 selectable interface languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Polish, Russian, Italian and Turkish. Some interface strings may appear in English. These are menu/interface choices; text-to-speech language coverage is determined separately by the speech model you select. Echo Live is aimed at creative voice and audio use, from live gaming chat to stream sound effects and spoken clips. Start with the free app and choose Pro only if its additional features suit your workflow.
