PigPal vs. FieldForge

PigPal is a specialized application crafted to facilitate the management of pig farming, addressing the needs of both small-scale farmers and large commercial enterprises. This app allows for comprehensive record-keeping of each pig's details, encompassing their category, weight, vaccination records, deworming treatments, and medical history through a feature called Tag360. Furthermore, its breeding module carefully monitors critical factors such as mating events, farrowing outcomes, litter sizes, and mortality statistics both pre- and post-weaning, in addition to providing insights into boar and sow performance alongside a fertility curve that signals the best times for stock renewal. For financial oversight, PigPal includes a simple accounting mode as well as an IAS 41 biological-asset mode that meets auditing requirements, generating vital documents like Trading Accounts, Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and NABARD-format Project Reports suitable for bank loan applications for livestock. The application is equipped with various supportive tools, such as a tracker for feed and Feed Conversion Ratios (FCR), a feed formulation feature, calculators for housing and space needs, a biosecurity self-assessment tool, and optional AI functionalities that offer camera-based weight estimates, disease predictions, and health alerts. Designed to function effectively offline, PigPal is compatible with basic Android devices, supports local pig breeds while complying with Indian regulations, and provides a free initial version alongside affordable paid upgrades for additional features. Ultimately, PigPal's mission is to optimize pig farming operations, thereby boosting productivity and profitability for farmers, regardless of their farm size, and to ensure that users have a reliable tool at their disposal to enhance their farming practices.
