What is RecWise?

To begin a reconciliation process, one should first compare the closing balance of the General Ledger with the sub-ledger and other relevant documents, including bank statements or records from third parties. Any inconsistencies found between these sources must be carefully examined, quantified, and rectified when possible through appropriate adjustments in either the general ledger or sub-ledger. It is also crucial to record any discrepancies as reconciling items to ensure transparency in the process. Ultimately, the balances should correspond precisely and be backed by all relevant documentation associated with the reconciliation effort. The review phase is vital for validating the thoroughness of the reconciliation, and adding an extra layer of approval can further bolster confidence in its correctness. Additionally, creating a solid framework alongside a standardized procedure can greatly enhance the efficiency and streamlining of the reconciliation process at the end of each month. This practice not only promotes uniformity but also helps in early detection of potential issues within the cycle. By implementing such measures, organizations can ensure a more reliable financial reporting process moving forward.

What is CryptaCount?

CryptaCount is enterprise crypto accounting software designed to help businesses, accounting firms, auditors, Web3 companies, and crypto funds convert blockchain activity into accurate, audit-ready financial records. The platform serves as a dedicated crypto sub-ledger that reconciles on-chain transactions and exchange activity before producing double-entry journal entries for a company's general ledger. It supports more than 90 blockchain networks, over 100 wallet and exchange integrations, and multiple accounting workflows for organizations managing complex digital asset portfolios. CryptaCount offers 12 cost-basis calculation methods while automatically enforcing jurisdiction-specific accounting rules such as UK Section 104 pooling, Canadian adjusted cost base, and French PFU requirements when applicable. The platform generates IFRS and US GAAP financial statements, FASB fair value reporting, real-time portfolio valuations, treasury analytics, NAV calculations, and complete audit documentation for institutional accounting environments. Automated classification identifies blockchain events including staking rewards, DeFi yields, swaps, transfers, gas fees, NFT activity, and other cryptocurrency transactions before mapping them to configurable accounting policies. Every reported figure is supported by a three-layer audit trail that traces balances from blockchain events to reconciled ledger entries and ultimately to journal entries posted into the general ledger. CryptaCount also supports compliance initiatives for MiCA, CARF, DAC8, VARA, and other emerging digital asset reporting frameworks while maintaining role-based access controls and per-workspace data isolation. Read-only wallet connections and exchange API integrations ensure organizations can reconcile assets without ever exposing private keys or transferring custody of funds.
