What is Revolte?

Revolte is an AI-powered software engineering and software delivery platform that automates the complete software development lifecycle from product intent to production deployment and ongoing operations. The platform enables engineering teams to move beyond isolated AI coding assistants by executing planning, code generation, testing, validation, deployment, runtime monitoring, and operational workflows through coordinated AI agents. Engineers remain responsible for defining requirements, reviewing changes, approving releases, and governing outcomes while Revolte performs the repetitive execution work across development pipelines. The platform integrates with widely used engineering tools including Jira, Git, GitHub, GitLab, Figma, Kubernetes, Terraform, Slack, Grafana, Sentry, AWS, Google Cloud, and other DevOps technologies, allowing teams to enhance existing workflows without major infrastructure changes. Revolte supports organizations building new applications, migrating and modernizing legacy software, operating production environments, and continuously evolving existing applications with faster release cycles and greater consistency. Its Agent Harness converts platform definitions written in YAML into executable workflows that automatically provision infrastructure, services, environments, and deployment pipelines required throughout the software lifecycle. Delivery Intelligence provides visibility into engineering workflows, deployment performance, and operational health, while runtime observability helps teams monitor systems, investigate incidents, resolve production issues, and maintain application reliability. Developer-in-the-loop workflows ensure AI-generated code and infrastructure changes remain subject to human review before deployment, balancing automation with engineering oversight.

What is OpenTofu?

OpenTofu represents a fork of Terraform, launched by a consortium of companies such as Gruntwork, Spacelift, Harness, Env0, and Scalr, in response to HashiCorp's shift from an open-source license to the Business Source License (BUSL). This initiative has attracted substantial support from a diverse array of stakeholders. From a technical standpoint, OpenTofu 1.6.x is quite similar to Terraform 1.6.x in terms of features, yet the two projects are anticipated to diverge over time. A notable difference is that OpenTofu functions as an open-source project, which seeks to promote collaborative development without being under the control of a single organization. While companies may encounter difficulties when making the switch to a new platform, the risks associated with staying on a project that alters its licensing unexpectedly can be even greater. Transitioning to OpenTofu is further supported by its transfer to the Linux Foundation, which helps reduce the risks involved, and its promise to retain feature parity with Terraform in future updates serves to lessen any potential technical complications. This collaborative framework not only boosts transparency but also encourages wider community participation in the continuous evolution of OpenTofu. Ultimately, the movement towards OpenTofu signifies a broader push for more democratic and open development practices in software within the industry.
