What is Rosetta?

Rosetta is an all-encompassing system for digital asset management and preservation, tailored for libraries, archives, museums, and a variety of organizations. It ensures that a diverse range of digital content is collected, organized, and distributed securely for future generations. The system is offered in two formats: an on-premise enterprise solution or a fully hosted service on the Ex Libris secure cloud platform. By doing so, Rosetta effectively reduces redundant tasks and enhances administrative efficiency while maintaining data integrity. It consolidates various Digital Asset Management (DAM) and preservation functions into a unified solution, fostering both efficiency and collaboration among users. Additionally, users are empowered to create customized rules and workflows to meet their evolving operational needs. The platform features a sophisticated business logic engine that provides highly adaptable configuration choices, accommodating an array of requirements. Rosetta also prioritizes openness, allowing users to extend its functionalities and interface with external solutions via a broad selection of APIs, plug-ins, and open interfaces, which encourages seamless integration in a constantly changing digital environment. Ultimately, Rosetta equips institutions with the tools they need to effectively manage their digital assets while preparing for both current and future challenges, ensuring they remain competitive in the digital age.

What is Archive-It?

Since its launch in 2006, Archive-it, a service provided by the Internet Archive, has played a crucial role in delivering web archiving solutions to over 800 organizations in more than 24 countries. These organizations encompass various sectors, including libraries, cultural heritage institutions, research organizations, community groups with a focus on social initiatives, and programs dedicated to advancing education and open knowledge. Users of Archive-it have successfully archived an astounding total of over 40 billion records that originate from the web, resulting in petabytes of digital data. The service offers essential tools, training, and technical support that empower users to effectively capture and preserve evolving web content, while also featuring a collaborative environment for partners to display their collections, which include various search, discovery, and access options. All archived materials are securely housed in not-for-profit data centers that are independently operated by the Internet Archive, enabling users to download their archives for additional preservation and distribution efforts. Furthermore, Archive-it fosters a sense of community among its users, allowing them to share best practices and strategies for effective web archiving. By collaborating, Archive-it users and the Internet Archive significantly advance the common goal of ensuring enduring access to a diverse range of global collections, enriching the digital history narrative for future generations to discover and appreciate.
