What is GOM Inspect?

GOM Inspect is an advanced software tool tailored for the evaluation of 3D measurement data sourced from fringe projection or laser scanning, coordinate measurement machines, and a variety of other measurement systems. It plays a vital role in fields such as product design, quality control, and manufacturing operations. Users can easily import CAD files, measurement plans, and 3D point clouds, while also having access to features for creating and altering polygon meshes. The integration of measurement data alignment with nominal specifications is smooth, encompassing dimensional analysis in both 2D and 3D, alongside evaluations for GD&T and SPC, all paired with the capability to generate detailed measurement reports. Serving as a complimentary viewer for 3D scan data, measurement reports, and CAD files, GOM Inspect significantly improves user accessibility. Moreover, modifications made to CAD or individual components automatically update measurement positions through the "Smart Teach" functionality, ensuring precision. In instances where multiple tools detect a defect, the findings can be merged into a singular representation for improved clarity. Additionally, a newly introduced module allows for the virtual clamping and assessment of sheet metal and injection-molded components, which removes the complexities associated with traditional clamping setups. This innovative approach not only streamlines the measurement process but also boosts efficiency in quality assurance practices. Ultimately, GOM Inspect empowers users to achieve higher standards in their measurement processes and product evaluations.
