What is SYCL?

SYCL is a programming standard created by the Khronos Group that is open and free of royalties, designed to support heterogeneous and offload computing within modern ISO C++, providing a cohesive abstraction layer where host and device code coexist in a single C++ source file, and accommodating a variety of devices including CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, and additional accelerators. What is BTCMiner?

BTCMiner is a dedicated application designed for Bitcoin mining, allowing users to effectively leverage their ZTEX USB-FPGA Modules for profitability. These FPGA boards feature a USB interface, which removes the necessity for extra components such as a JTAG programmer, thus facilitating the assembly of economical FPGA clusters that utilize standard USB hubs. The software incorporates dynamic frequency scaling and overclocking, intelligently determining the most efficient frequency to achieve the greatest number of valid hashes by monitoring error rates. A single instance of BTCMiner is capable of operating multiple FPGA boards, potentially reaching into the hundreds, contingent on the existing USB host controllers. Users have the ability to add or remove FPGA boards while the mining operation is ongoing, ensuring adaptable management of their mining configurations. Moreover, it includes functionalities for detecting FPGA boards and organizing clusters based on their identifiers. Additionally, the software provides a power-saving feature that engages after five minutes of inactivity, paired with temperature monitoring and an automatic shutdown mechanism to avert overheating, specifically supporting the USB-FPGA Module 1.15y rev. 2. In instances of excessive error rates, the software will trigger an automatic shutdown as a protective measure for the hardware.
