What is Saucillator?

Saucillator is a groundbreaking mobile application that transforms devices into engaging platforms designed for the creation and enjoyment of digital synthesizers. Inspired by iconic instruments such as the Korg KAOSSILATOR and Moog synthesizers, the app utilizes touchscreen technology for controlling oscillators and effects, allowing users to participate in live-looping and recording activities. The app's touchscreen axes correspond to amplitude (volume) and frequency (pitch), empowering users to fabricate unique soundscapes by manipulating their bespoke synthesizers. It also facilitates the looping of playback, recording, and equalization via a parametric EQ, significantly enriching the listening experience. Users are presented with a wide variety of timbres to experiment with, enabling the combination of various sounds across multiple harmonics, amplitudes, and phases to create their own signature auditory pieces. Each synthesizer within the app comes with customizable effects parameters, including envelope shaping, LFO modulation, delay settings, and note lag adjustments, offering a broad spectrum of sound design options. Furthermore, users can select musical scales, designate a base note for the pad, modify grid sizes, save their compositions onto an SD card, and activate visualizations for a more immersive experience. This versatile app serves as an essential resource for both aspiring and seasoned musicians, making it a noteworthy asset in the field of digital music production. Additionally, Saucillator continuously evolves, incorporating user feedback to enhance its functionality and expand its creative possibilities.

What is Podolski?

Introduced in 2005 and continuing to flourish, Podolski is a versatile and efficient virtual analog synthesizer that operates with minimal CPU load. It boasts a single oscillator, filter, envelope, and an integrated arpeggiator/sequencer. Despite its straightforward interface, Podolski is equipped with several intelligent features that facilitate the production of rich sounds effortlessly. Serving as a more streamlined alternative to FilterscapeVA, it includes one oscillator, one filter, one envelope, and two LFOs, alongside a Zebra-style arpeggiator/sequencer and built-in chorus and delay effects. A standout element is its click parameter, which emphasizes the filter's attack, along with its innovative WaveWarp function that enables smooth transitions between three distinct waveforms. The oscillator provides adjustable symmetry ranging from sawtooth to triangle, featuring pulse-width modulation (PWM) and glide functionalities. The arpeggiator's dual role as a 16-step sequencer also adds another layer of modulation for greater creative possibilities. Users can opt for either ADSR or HDSR envelopes, which include linear or exponential curve settings, while the sustain control incorporates both rise and fall options to enhance sound shaping capabilities. Overall, Podolski merges simplicity with intricate features, making it a valuable resource for novices and seasoned sound designers alike, proving that effective tools can also be user-friendly.
