What is Simcenter S-Frame?

Simcenter S-Frame is a Siemens structural analysis and design solution created for engineers who need to evaluate buildings, industrial structures, energy facilities, and other complex projects. It allows users to model, analyze, and design structures regardless of geometric complexity, material type, loading condition, nonlinear behavior, or design code requirement. The software helps reduce modeling time through automated framework generators, standard and custom truss creation, model cloning, and BIM or DXF import capabilities. Engineers can use its advanced meshing tools to focus detailed analysis on specific areas of interest and convert members into multi-shell models with equivalent shell loading. Simcenter S-Frame supports a comprehensive list of analysis types, including linear static, vibration, response spectrum analysis, equivalent static and lateral force procedures, time history, P-Delta, buckling, staged construction, moving load, nonlinear static, quasi-static, and nonlinear time history analysis. Its finite element library supports trusses, cables, beams, membranes, plates, shells, solids, linear and nonlinear springs, link beams with nonlinear hysteresis behavior, and tension or compression-only members. The platform includes integrated steel design tools for strength and serviceability checks, composite beam design, camber calculations, shear stud layouts, member optimization, and custom steel design reporting. It also includes integrated concrete design capabilities for beams, columns, walls, continuous beams, code checks, utilization ratios, governing load cases, and design clause references. Simcenter S-Frame can connect with other tools such as Simcenter S-Frame Timber and Simcenter S-Frame Foundation for timber design and foundation analysis. Bidirectional BIM links with Revit and TEKLA Structures, along with AutoCAD DXF import, help teams collaborate more effectively and streamline model creation.
