What is Simcenter S-Frame?

Simcenter S-Frame is a Siemens structural analysis and design solution created for engineers who need to evaluate buildings, industrial structures, energy facilities, and other complex projects. It allows users to model, analyze, and design structures regardless of geometric complexity, material type, loading condition, nonlinear behavior, or design code requirement. The software helps reduce modeling time through automated framework generators, standard and custom truss creation, model cloning, and BIM or DXF import capabilities. Engineers can use its advanced meshing tools to focus detailed analysis on specific areas of interest and convert members into multi-shell models with equivalent shell loading. Simcenter S-Frame supports a comprehensive list of analysis types, including linear static, vibration, response spectrum analysis, equivalent static and lateral force procedures, time history, P-Delta, buckling, staged construction, moving load, nonlinear static, quasi-static, and nonlinear time history analysis. Its finite element library supports trusses, cables, beams, membranes, plates, shells, solids, linear and nonlinear springs, link beams with nonlinear hysteresis behavior, and tension or compression-only members. The platform includes integrated steel design tools for strength and serviceability checks, composite beam design, camber calculations, shear stud layouts, member optimization, and custom steel design reporting. It also includes integrated concrete design capabilities for beams, columns, walls, continuous beams, code checks, utilization ratios, governing load cases, and design clause references. Simcenter S-Frame can connect with other tools such as Simcenter S-Frame Timber and Simcenter S-Frame Foundation for timber design and foundation analysis. Bidirectional BIM links with Revit and TEKLA Structures, along with AutoCAD DXF import, help teams collaborate more effectively and streamline model creation.

What is BentStudio?

BentStudio is an online platform dedicated to the creation of timber and log structures, accommodating a wide range of projects from small garden structures and pergolas to expansive cabins, workshops, and timber barns. - Design your project: start by selecting from options like timber-frame, post-and-beam, or dovetail log-wall designs. Modify dimensions, sections, roof styles, trusses, dormers, and lean-tos as the model updates in real time with your adjustments. - Evaluate your design: effortlessly switch between 3D perspectives, floor plans, and elevation drawings to scrutinize details, concentrating on joints, notches, supports, and various components. - Get ready for construction: save multiple iterations of your design and create a PDF drawing package that includes timber lists, cutting instructions, and an editable project file. Accessible via desktop browsers, BentStudio also provides an option to download an offline HTML version for convenience. The license fee is a one-time charge of CAD $199 for a single Studio license, eliminating any ongoing costs. It’s crucial to understand that BentStudio is intended solely as a design and layout tool, not a structural engineering service, making it perfect for those who wish to realize their timber building dreams without the burden of complex engineering calculations. Additionally, the platform's user-friendly interface encourages creativity and exploration in timber design, allowing users to bring their unique visions to fruition.
