What is UMH?

United Manufacturing Hub is an innovative, open-source platform powered by AI that facilitates the management of industrial data, effectively connecting shop-floor equipment with IT systems while meticulously cleaning, contextualizing, and structuring this data into a Unified Namespace, serving as a single real-time reference for the entire manufacturing environment. By utilizing this strong framework, manufacturers can keep an eye on operational KPIs, monitor energy consumption and equipment status, receive notifications, and deploy industrial AI solutions, including smart agents that analyze real-time production metrics. This platform has been successfully adopted in numerous facilities, with prominent clients like HiPP, Böllhoff, and VELUX leading the way. Moreover, a detailed Total Economic Impact assessment carried out by Forrester revealed a remarkable 426% return on investment over a three-year timeframe, with initial expenses recuperated in under six months, showcasing its significant worth in the manufacturing landscape. The impressive outcomes underline the platform's capability to revolutionize industrial processes, boost efficiency, and achieve higher productivity levels, proving it to be an essential tool for modern manufacturers. Its widespread adoption signifies a shift towards smarter, more interconnected manufacturing environments.

What is Riff?

Riff is an artificial intelligence platform developed to help manufacturing companies, distributors, and industrial enterprises automate operational processes using autonomous AI agents. The platform connects with existing enterprise resource planning systems and business applications to execute tasks without requiring organizations to migrate their operational data. Its prebuilt agents support order handling, procurement, logistics coordination, production planning, and aftermarket service workflows. Sales order agents can process incoming orders, check customer information, confirm delivery dates, and create transactions within connected ERP systems. Procurement agents can monitor purchase orders, communicate with suppliers, investigate delivery delays, and escalate exceptions requiring human decisions. Riff maintains a shared operational context that combines customer records, supplier information, transactions, historical activity, and organizational procedures to inform agent actions. Its AI agents can communicate through email, Microsoft Teams, Slack, telephone interactions, and external portals while maintaining continuity across business processes. Collaborative interfaces provide employees with access to operational dashboards, agent recommendations, exception queues, and shared records for reviewing and approving actions. The platform includes a natural language builder that generates custom applications using React frontends and FastAPI backends, with access to the underlying source code. Native integrations support Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Infor, IFS, Monitor, Jeeves, and Epicor, while its Model Context Protocol connectivity allows external AI assistants to access approved operational tools. Enterprise governance capabilities include single sign-on, configurable permissions, audit logs, model selection, staging environments, and human approval controls for sensitive business transactions.
