What is Urban Network Analysis Toolbox for ArcGIS?

The City Form Lab has introduced a groundbreaking toolbox tailored for the examination of urban networks. This pioneering ArcGIS toolbox stands out as the first of its kind, incorporating centrality tools that enable the calculation of five unique graph analysis metrics on spatial networks: reach, gravity, betweenness, closeness, and straightness. Furthermore, it contains redundancy tools that compute the redundancy index, pinpoint redundant pathways, and evaluate the wayfinding index. Remarkably, these tools feature three significant capabilities that enhance their utility in spatial analysis of urban street networks. To begin with, they can take into account both geometry and topology in the input networks, allowing the incorporation of metric distance (like meters) and topological distance (such as turns) as impedance factors during analysis. Additionally, unlike previous software that only addressed two network components—nodes and edges—the UNA tools introduce a third component: buildings, which act as the spatial units for all analytical evaluations. This holistic methodology not only bolsters the precision of urban analysis but also yields richer insights into the interactions within urban settings. As urban environments continue to evolve, such tools will be essential for planners and researchers aiming to understand complex urban dynamics.

What is MAXVERSE?

MAXVERSE presents an exceptional development ecosystem for those eager to create engaging metaverses. This XR Software Development Toolkit (SDK) is equipped with resources for XR spatial mapping, an XR SDK, and a user-friendly platform designed to facilitate the simulation of AR applications and VR websites. By integrating MAXVERSE with Unity, developers can seamlessly construct their metaverse endeavors, taking advantage of the cohesive platform for building metaverse services. Moreover, MAXVERSE can turn recorded videos into dynamic metaverse environments. The toolkit comes with a client tool that enables users to adjust the gravity direction and scale of point clouds, while also placing points of interest (POIs) and topological features within the 3D spaces created. It supports the generation and management of spatial maps derived from captured visuals, allowing users to register and modify POIs alongside space map creation tools. With its extensive collection of content development tools and APIs, MAXVERSE serves as a powerful platform for creating metaverse services, supplying users with vital resources to realize their creative ideas. In addition to its robust offerings, MAXVERSE provides complimentary tools for the development of metaverse space maps, thereby inviting developers from various backgrounds to participate in this innovative field. This accessibility ensures a wider range of creators can explore and contribute to the expanding universe of metaverse experiences.
