What is VisoDyne Battery Monitor?

VisoDyne Battery Monitor is a Bluetooth and 2.4GHz battery monitor for Windows 10 and 11. It tracks AirPods, wireless earbuds, game controllers (Xbox, DualShock, and other compatible controllers), mice, and keyboards, showing live battery percentages that Windows often can't display natively. Each connected device gets its own system tray icon with a live battery reading. AirPods get extra detail: left ear, right ear, and case battery shown separately, or merged into a single icon. For devices that only report battery in coarse steps (like every 10%), VisoDyne estimates actual time remaining based on real drain speed, not just the last reported percentage. Low-battery alerts warn you before a device dies, and icon styles and color rules are fully configurable. It's built for individual Windows users juggling multiple wireless devices: remote and hybrid workers relying on Bluetooth headphones plus a wireless mouse and keyboard, gamers who need to check controller battery mid-session, podcasters and video editors wearing AirPods or earbuds for hours at a stretch, and anyone tired of Windows only showing battery levels for a handful of device types. The Community version is free forever, no account required, and shows every device in the app with one of them tracked live in the system tray. Pro is a one-time payment of €6.99, a lifetime license with no subscription, and unlocks a tray icon for unlimited devices at once, custom low-battery alert thresholds, and additional tray icon styles and color rules. Every Pro feature is unlocked during a free trial, after the trial the app simply continues as the free community version. A single Pro license covers up to 5 PCs, and all future updates are included on all tiers.

What is PuTTYTray?

The software provides multiple options for minimizing to the system tray, including the use of CTRL + minimize, at startup, or consistently, and allows users to customize icons. It alerts users with a flashing tray icon when a bell signal is received and offers adjustable window transparency settings. Furthermore, users can take advantage of URL hyperlinking, portability, and the capability to save session configurations in files, making it convenient for usage on devices like USB drives, akin to portaPuTTY. The 'always on top' functionality can be easily accessed from the system menu, and support for Android ADB is also integrated. Additionally, sessions can be loaded from files through the command line, with the software automatically opting for 'sessions from file' when registry-stored sessions are unavailable. Now built upon PuTTY 0.61, it includes updates such as Windows 7 Jumplist and Aero support. The executables have been signed to mitigate Internet Explorer's security warnings, accomplished without requiring any alterations to the code. A newly added URLs submenu enhances keyboard accessibility while maintaining compatibility with older systems. The application also enjoys a code signing certificate and timestamping, effectively resolving previous certificate-related issues. Originally compiled by Barry Haanstra, the project is currently managed by Chris West (Faux), who is dedicated to its continuous maintenance and upgrades. This tool's development reflects a strong commitment to improving user experience and accessibility across a range of platforms, showcasing an ongoing evolution aimed at meeting the diverse needs of its users.
