What is WACUP?

WACUP aims to encapsulate the charm of your beloved legacy media players while bringing them into the contemporary landscape. Often referred to as "wakeup," "wac-up," or however you prefer, this cutting-edge media player represents my vision for an optimal playback experience and ensures compatibility with plugins from popular media players you already love. My goal is to implement bug fixes, improve current features, and unveil exciting new functionalities, ultimately striving to establish WACUP as a highly adaptable standalone media player. With a strong plugin architecture at its core, WACUP provides users with the ability to effortlessly tailor their experience to match personal tastes. Once it moves past its preview stage, I plan to release an SDK that will empower developers to craft new plugins that can enhance the player even further. Additionally, WACUP will be available for free download and usage, guaranteeing accessibility for every user. By joining the WACUP beta testing program, you can significantly contribute to the software’s refinement, preparing it for a larger audience while playing a role in its developmental journey. This collaborative initiative will not only improve the player itself but will also cultivate a thriving community of dedicated enthusiasts who share a passion for media playback innovation. Ultimately, the success of WACUP hinges on the contributions and feedback from its users, paving the way for a truly remarkable media experience.

What is Rage?

Rage is a multimedia playback application built using the Enlightenment Foundation Libraries (EFL) that boasts a variety of exciting features. Designed to be intuitive, this audio and video player is both elegant and user-friendly, drawing comparisons to Mplayer. Users can control Rage via the command line to access their media files, or they can simply drag and drop files into the interface to add them seamlessly to their playlist. Upon starting Rage without any command-line arguments, users are greeted with a video browsing mode. In this mode, pressing the / key or moving the mouse to the right side of the window reveals a visual overview of the entire playlist. Rage includes an array of keyboard shortcuts, facilitating effortless navigation throughout the application. While playing music, it automatically searches for and displays album artwork, unless the images are already cached. Furthermore, it creates thumbnails for video timelines, allowing users to hover over the position bar at the bottom of the screen to preview clips. Any album covers that Rage downloads are saved for future use, enhancing the overall user experience. With its captivating interface and practical features, Rage proves itself to be a compelling choice for anyone seeking efficient media playback solutions and elevates the enjoyment of digital content.
