What is Zerostand?

Zerostand is an innovative, self-managed solution for privileged access management, tailored for security and IT teams who oversee access to a variety of resources, including servers, databases, web consoles, and workload identities. It enables users and services to receive temporary access in accordance with established policies, featuring intricate approval workflows, customizable access durations, ticket validation, and robust multi-factor authentication. The platform adeptly manages SSH, RDP, database, and web sessions while providing a secure vault to handle accounts that still depend on passwords, complete with mechanisms for scheduled updates and verification. By integrating seamlessly with workload identities, it allows services to authenticate through Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or OIDC. Administrators can also discover user accounts, implement recertification efforts, and produce audit evidence reports, ensuring compliance and oversight. Operating within containers on infrastructure controlled by the customer—whether on-premises or cloud-based—Zerostand offers unparalleled flexibility. Users authenticate through various supported OIDC identity providers, with features tailored to fit the specific requirements of each target system, thereby delivering a customized access experience. This holistic method to access management not only significantly bolsters security but also simplifies the management process for IT teams, ultimately fostering a more efficient operational environment. As organizations increasingly prioritize security, solutions like Zerostand are becoming essential for maintaining control over sensitive resources.

What is Opal Security?

Opal Security is an identity governance platform that helps organizations manage and enforce access decisions across human and non-human identities. The platform is designed to govern employees, contractors, AI agents, copilots, service accounts, applications, and infrastructure from a unified control layer. Opal evaluates access requests against policy and risk signals to help organizations enforce least privilege and reduce unnecessary standing access. Its Paladin AI engine can review requests, make or recommend decisions, explain the reasoning behind those decisions, and escalate uncertain cases to human reviewers. Just-in-time access enables privileged permissions to be granted for a limited period and then revoked automatically once the work is complete. AI-assisted access reviews analyze individual entitlements and available evidence to help reviewers determine whether permissions should be maintained or removed. Opal also extends governance to AI agents and autonomous systems by controlling what those identities can view, access, and execute. The platform maintains searchable audit records of access changes and administrative actions so organizations can trace who or what received access, when it changed, and how the decision was made. Audit data can be exported to external systems such as SIEM platforms or Amazon S3 to support compliance and security operations. Opal can run as a hosted service or be deployed in customer-controlled environments including virtual machines and Kubernetes, supporting organizations with strict infrastructure and regulatory requirements. Enterprise security features include SOC 2 Type 2 certification, annual penetration testing, monthly vulnerability scanning, encryption in transit and at rest, US and EU hosting options, and support for GDPR and CCPA requirements.
