What is eProtocol?

eProtocol is an all-encompassing online platform designed for research compliance, catering to various institutions that manage studies involving human subjects, animals, biosafety, and other regulated areas. This system streamlines the creation and electronic submission of research protocols while managing the workflows needed for committee review, approval, amendments, renewals, and reporting of adverse events, along with features like automated routing, reminders, version control, meeting agendas, minutes, audit trails, and detailed reporting. Investigators, coordinators, reviewers, and compliance administrators benefit from a collaborative interface that allows them to effectively track protocol statuses and access essential records. The platform includes specialized modules for Institutional Review Boards (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees (IACUC), Institutional Biosafety Committees (IBC), as well as for stem-cell research, chemical safety, radiation safety, controlled substances, and post-approval monitoring. eProtocol is meticulously designed to cater to the specific needs of universities, research institutions, hospitals, academic medical centers, biotech and pharmaceutical firms, and governmental research entities, ensuring an efficient compliance process across a variety of research landscapes. Furthermore, it not only boosts the efficiency of regulatory processes but also plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall integrity and safety of research activities, fostering a culture of accountability and transparency in scientific inquiry.

What is CellCount?

CellCount is a web-based application specifically created for the purpose of counting cells in laboratory environments that employ either hemocytometers or images from automated cell counters. This software efficiently analyzes images taken by microscope cameras or smartphones to locate the chamber grid and accurately quantify both viable and non-viable cells using the trypan blue exclusion technique. In cases where the grid recognition fails, users have the flexibility to manually mark the crossings for precise counting. The application delivers results that include cell viability percentages, corrected dilution cell concentrations per milliliter, and a histogram that illustrates cell size distributions. Users can observe the detected cells as they are outlined in the images and have the option to add or remove detections, modify classifications, and validate the final cell count. Furthermore, the application supports the sharing of protocols, enabling laboratories to preserve essential settings like dilution rates, selected squares, sensitivity thresholds, and parameters for cell sizes. By keeping detailed records of their samples, teams can export in-depth reports along with collections of images, and they have the ability to verify accepted records through a SHA-256 hash for added security. In conclusion, CellCount serves a diverse range of research and biotechnology laboratories that handle various cell types, such as cell lines, primary cells like PBMCs, and yeast, proving to be an indispensable tool for comprehensive cell analysis and management in scientific research.
