What is feh?

Feh serves as a minimalist image viewer tailored for X11, catering to those who favor command-line interactions over elaborate graphical interfaces. It presents images in a straightforward manner, allowing users to navigate using customizable keyboard shortcuts or mouse controls. With the option to start a slideshow that scrolls through all images located within a chosen directory, users can choose to advance manually or have it progress automatically at predetermined intervals. Moreover, feh enjoys broad availability on various Linux and BSD distributions, including Arch Linux, Debian, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, and Ubuntu, making it a highly regarded option for individuals who value its unembellished design. This widespread support enhances its appeal, as it provides users with a dependable means to view images without the clutter of unnecessary features. As a result, feh remains a preferred choice for those seeking efficiency and simplicity in their image viewing experience.

What is WildBit Viewer?

The interface is not only visually appealing but also provides an exceptionally fast file and folder list along with a thumbnail viewer. This viewer displays Image Info, which includes EXIF metadata for JPEG and TIFF files as well as IPTC (IIMV4) details similar to what is available in Photoshop's file information. Users have the ability to tailor their viewing settings with a variety of layout options, sorting features, and preset thumbnail sizes for quick adjustments. Furthermore, WildBit Viewer includes a shell toolbar that lets users drag and drop their chosen folders, effectively turning the software into a personal organizer. Among its features is an image comparison tool that allows for side-by-side image analysis. Users can also create a Favorites list to easily access their preferred images later and have the option to design and adjust custom slideshows using the Custom Show List Editor. The slideshow capabilities include an impressive variety of 176 transition effects, and it now supports multiple monitors, allowing for smooth transitions between displays during presentations. This functionality makes the software suitable for both casual users and professionals, greatly enhancing the experience of organizing and viewing images while providing ample creative options for presentations. Additionally, the user-friendly design ensures that even those new to image management can navigate it with ease.

What is OpenBSD?

The OpenBSD operating system is entirely crafted by a dedicated group of volunteers. The development environment and various events for developers receive funding through donations that are overseen by The OpenBSD Foundation. These contributions are essential for maintaining the availability and sustainability of OpenBSD as a free operating system. Consequently, the OpenBSD project has implemented cryptographic capabilities across numerous aspects of the system. We emphasize that any cryptographic software used must be free of charge and possess suitable licenses. We deliberately avoid using cryptography that is burdened by problematic patents. Furthermore, we focus on obtaining this software from nations with favorable export laws, as we are dedicated to complying with international regulations. Our decision-making is primarily driven by technical merit, steering clear of political considerations wherever feasible. This unwavering commitment to free software and adherence to legal standards highlights the integrity and principles of the OpenBSD project. The ongoing efforts of the community continue to shape OpenBSD into a secure and reliable operating system for users worldwide.
