rishocart vs. BigCommerce

rishocart is a self-hosted e-commerce platform created for selling digital products such as software, scripts, extensions, templates, and downloadable files. It gives independent vendors a focused alternative to large general-purpose e-commerce systems while keeping the store, customer data, and delivery workflow under their own control. The platform includes product and category management, customer accounts, shopping cart and checkout functionality, Stripe payments, secure time-limited download links, order management, invoice generation, email verification, and EU VAT/VIES support. Sellers can offer free, trial, and paid products, and rishocart can generate license keys for purchased software. rishocart uses a multilingual architecture for both the storefront and administration area, allowing additional languages to be added and managed as needed. The administration area also provides tools for localization, tax configuration, product versions, licensing options, download settings, and system readiness checks. Because rishocart is installed on your own web hosting, there is no requirement to run the store on a third-party hosted commerce platform. This makes it suitable for developers, independent software vendors, creators, and small businesses that want direct control over their digital-product storefront and customer experience. The rishocart core is available free of charge under the rishocart Free Core License. Optional extensions can be added separately to expand functionality, allowing vendors to start with the core platform and extend the store as their requirements grow.
