AimBetter console can be customized in alarm thresholds by You or Support Team to satisfy specific customer needs; this monitoring tool is quite complex and needs some time to clearly understand all metrics, but after a few hours of console utilization You have a complete and clear comprehension of what happens into Your databases: user activities,
slow queries, deadlocks, blocking queries, bottlenecks, tempdb utilization, resource utilization, etc.
Agent sends all the metrics captured to a remote server in cloud that preserve them for a long time; this permits to monitor from console real time events or historical events, for example during night or weekend, batch or maintenance activity, and to compare the same metric between two different time sample to understand its time trend evolution.

My team chose this tool to monitor a complex environment made of more than one hundred of databases allocated on a few SQL Server clustered instances that suffered many problems at the beginning. This tool is based on a SaaS solution in Cloud, so one single AimBetter agent was installed on a third machine to monitor all these instances. Just after a couple of days of Aimbetter monitoring we were in condition to identify and classify hundreds of problems into our databases: syntax errors, security issues, bottlenecks, tempdb overload, deadlocks, etc.; we divided them in groups and forwarded one part to developers, the other to Database Administrators. Solved initial problems, now we are able to monitor in real time our instances and to analyze, troubleshoot and solve emerging problems a few time after an alarm reported by this tool.

Into the console you will find two main sections: one is a dashboard useful for monitoring health status with alert and alarms, the other goes deeply into many specific areas of investigation, collecting a lot of parameters and their evolution; a little more attention to a cross drill down between alarms and metrics analysis could help to investigate faster and more clear.

Getting complete overview of all monitored servers with easy way of investigating events gives a wonderful tool. Both for managers and system administrators.

The need to install plug ins in order to monitor.

- the proactive approach where based on the sql activity the Aimbetter support are reacting and contacting us in the case of any concern
- the notifications option on the monitoring tool are great
- the knowledge and skills of the staff . we worked with several , including but not limited to Royi, Anastasia. Royi is who we normally talk to and he always showed patience and professionalism, provided recommendations and resolved the issues in a timely manner
- the monitoring tool gives a good indication where the issue might reside, although requires training and to be used by IT professional.

The only cons is that training required to use the monitoring tool and sometimes some assistance to be able to investigate. this however improves with time, like any other tool i suppose.

As per now after a 6 month usage - could not find any on such.

At first the vast amount of features and options can be overwhelming. But their onboarding process quickly resolves those.

Does not monitor wide enough traffic between servers. e.g between IIS server and SQL server.

The service experience and the management interface are at a high level, a team attentive to customer requirements and various requests. The system reflects to us problems that we were not aware of and helped us to improve the performance and availability of the systems.

A best monitoring system on the database and on the organization's servers, which gives us full transparency the organization systems.

Useful product for easy SQL monitoring and improvements both for average IT and expert software engineers.

Even though I'm an IT and have no real knowledge with DB's this tool helps even me to find and fix some issues and when needed software engineers and DevOps also use it well.

Might be able to improve on some logging, I have nothing else to add so far.

Good product, good service, I have mission critical servers and need 24/7 monitoring, it is a good solution.

It's monitoring the database servers in realtime, the support solves issues.

The price is expensive, it does not support NoSQL servers like MongoDB.

I am very satisfied with this product - its very helpful for me , if it was little less pricey i would put it on all of my SQL servers.
