BITRaser for Home Laptop
Date: Dec 03 2023SummaryThis application was not as easy and quick as their home page touted it would be. It required many hours and some technical savvy that some home computers may find daunting and frustrating. I could not find a tech support phone number, so all conversations were through email which slowed the process considerably.
PositiveInexpensive cost for a single use license. The BITRaser web site was fairly easy to download the ISO Image file.

Thumb drive would not load on the laptop to be wiped clean, needed to use new laptop (and still don't know why)
Once boot disk was created on thumb drive it would not "authenticate" on the old laptop, so I needed to alter the boot configuration.
Multiple attempts were needed, with tech support assistance, to load the executable file from the open-source application (RUFUS) and
Lastly, it took multiple attempts to connect to the BITRaser server to start the disk scrubbing process.
