Updated: Jan 30 2026SummaryThe set up for the backend was a big learning curve for me, but the customer service team (especially Mike & Tamara) have always been there for me every step of the way. They answered everything in detail, sent me links, made time for online meetings, and never made me feel like I was a pain in their butt even tho I’m pretty sure I was. It’s a great product. Sometimes it feels a bit complicated but that might just be due to my lack of experience in these things. Having my bookings automated has been worth the learning process and provided me with freedom I never had before. I’m genuinely thankful to be using Bookinglayer and am very thankful to know Mike is always there for me haha.

We love the product's current state and hope a few of the additional features we have suggested will be added. But all in all, we are looking forward to this relationship.
PositiveThe entire onboarding process was beyond amazing. I worked with Tamara, who held our hand all the way through. I also love the customization that can be done, which there is much more to learn about. The main reason I switched away from Retreat Guru was that Booking Layer offers a customer portal space, this area where the client can land as a one-stop-shop is everythgin for us as the automated email model is hard to track.
NegativeThere are a few pretty simple structural fixes that could be done to really simplify the product. Mostly around automated emails and how we configure them, I think, could be made much simpler. Other than that, the only other aspect of the product I am not so thrilled about is the "additional features" that need to be paid for to unlock. For me, I have always loved that companies offer you a full gamut of features and really help you stick with what you need. There are some things we need that I now need to pay for. But I also understand the business drivers for doing it this way.

This means that sometimes you want to trial something quickly to see how it looks, but you will need to go through a conduit each time.
