Jabber is a good choice for a computer based phone. Call quality is great - when combined with a good headphone. While it rarely disconnects from the Jabber server, it does do a good job running quietly in the background. It is always handy by having a little sidebutton visible. Note that is seems like it interferes with other apps that use voice over IP, like Skype or Teams or the likes.
