Extremely User-Friendly
Date: Dec 30 2020SummaryEvery time I visited the Clio booth at a legal conference, I was impressed by everything it had to offer. I even tried to get my previous firm to switch platforms. Happy to have found a firm that uses Clio!
PositiveAfter using a different platform for about 15 years, I felt very comfortable transitioning to Clio. Clio is extremely user-friendly and can be tailed to your firm's needs. Drag-and-drop document uploading is as simple as it gets. The cloud keeps us almost paperless, which has been most helpful while working from home during the pandemic.
NegativeThe only feature missing from the platform I used previously is the checklist which populates tasks based upon previously-completed tasks, based off a master litigation life cycle. This helps with being proactive on cases and completing tasks before they are due.

Clio has changed our practice!
Date: Dec 30 2020SummaryI am happy that we have purchased Clio Manage as well as Clio Grow. This has made our practice much more manageable and we intend on continuing to use it for a long time.
PositiveClio has allowed us to track, bill and automate matters in a way we could not before. It has made out practice much more manageable.
NegativeThe cost of Clio is the only concern. Clio grow paired with manage can cost quite a bit.

It's Got Everything
Updated: Jan 22 2021SummaryIncredible. I was doing everything manually by myself before using Clio. I can't say how much time and money it has saved me. It's a must have for a solo practitioner or small firm.
PositiveEasy client and matter setup, one click billing, easy time capture through the mobile application, great price, excellent service, constant innovation.
NegativeThere really aren't many cons. Sometimes the connection is slow or an integration is down that affects performance, but nothing that hasn't been addressed efficiently.

Clio is the key to our law practice
Date: Dec 30 2020SummaryClio made our practice more efficient. Most importantly we can provide immediate updates to clients.
PositiveWe utilize the document templates for every aspect of our practice. The cloud based storage and app allows us to update clients no matter where we are in the world.
NegativeIt can be difficult to keep up with the changing features.

I Recommend Clio
Date: Dec 17 2020SummaryClio has been a very affordable option for me, with great support, as noted above. When you are a solo practitioner and have to handle all administrative and IT issues yourself, having great support is essential.
PositiveI have been using Clio since January 2013 when I started my own firm. Right from the beginning, the customer support has been stellar--it's the gold standard. Clio handles my timekeeping, billing, document creation, intake (through Clio Grow), and task management. It is continually innovating and improving its capacity, as well. It has changed a lot since 2013, adding many ways to increase productivity and efficiency. I highly recommend it, particularly if you want a reasonably-priced system with fantastic customer support.
NegativeI use FasterSuite to interface with Clio, and that started before Clio introduced Launcher. I would discontinue FasterSuite (it is a separate subscription cost) however, it interfaces with Outlook in a way that allows me to not just save communications to client folders (as Clio does) but go to those saved emails and continue to use them as Outlook emails, e.g., replying or forwarding them right from the separate Outlook folder. I would lose that capability if I switched to only using Clio. Maybe one other thing: every call to Clio generates an email asking for feedback. That is really too frequent for someone trying to reduce admin time. I can tell you I get about 2 - 2.5 billable hours in on a good day, since I do all my own support, so adding email to my inbox that frequently (it's already insane how much non-client email I get from every source!) is not appreciated.

Clio
Updated: Feb 05 2021SummaryVery good system everything you need in on place instead of having other programs as well. One system we can all understand.
PositiveIt is a system that allows you to see many features in one screen like the Dashboard and it can be customized to your needs at the law firm.
NegativeThere should only be one place to upload documents, our clients upload in the contact tab as it has a document tab and they will upload in the matter as well. There should only be one tab for documents to be uploaded.

Extremely satisfied
Date: Dec 22 2020SummaryI would recommend this software to the New law firm owner and the experienced firm managing partner. The time management this software provides is unmatched.
PositiveCleo is a super user-friendly cloud-based software, that allows the business driven attorney to properly and consistently track client cases, income, and billable hours. Having a background in business, this software stands in the shoes of at least 4 to 5 necessary business operational personnel.
NegativeThe biggest con would be the accuracy in accounting. More specifically as it relates to income versus expenses and other tax deductions. I think the reporting feature could be a bit more accurate, nonetheless still very user-friendly

Semi-retired lawyer use of Clio for billing only
Updated: Dec 31 2020SummaryMaybe there's something out there to serve my needs better or cheaper than Clio, but I haven't found it. Without Clio, I might have to give up law practice entirely.
PositiveMy situation involves very limited semi-retirement practice from home without staff support, generating only two or three bills per month. I do not use the vast practice management tools of Clio other than billing. The single-user monthly cost of Clio (approaching $80) for such little use may seem high to an observer, but its ease of use and cloud functionality make bearing the cost a no-brainer. I can input time and expenses comprehensively, generate bills efficiently on a timely basis, and maintain billing records as I go with no appreciable time commitment on my part. I go all the way back to the days of paper timeslips and manual bill production, then dedicated PC billing software (several versions of the Timeslips program), until Clio came to my attention. Even almost three years after I closed my office, it's well worth the modest cost.
NegativeAs with any program, I occasionally have run into limitations of functionality or situations where I could not figure out a Clio function without help, but the ready access to telephone help from a skilled Clio technical support representative provides me with a quick how-to or workaround every time.

Lost without Clio
Date: Dec 30 2020SummaryWorks great for my 3 person law firm. My office is anywhere I have Internet access whether it's my laptop or iPhone.
PositiveNearly everything regarding my practice is contained in Clio. The mobile app is very handy to send or review a document on the go. I love going to one place to do nearly everything. I have been using Clio for 6 years now and I wouldn't consider moving. A few months ago, I started to use Clio Grow and found it to be very useful, but mainly only using it for the forms to send clients to fill out.
NegativeRight now my cons are Law Pay is not consistent, many of my clients can't process their bill payments using the system. That is embarrassing to have happen. The other issue for me is that there is no current integration for Mac/Apple Mail.

Clio - for the modern lawyer
Date: Dec 22 2020SummaryRecommended for anyone who is tired of using slow and inaccessible practice management software. Easily scalable to include additional users.
PositiveEase of access, including from mobile devices; ability to import data from PCLaw; fast and effective customer support on the few occasions I have needed it.
NegativeFor a little while, the app required signing in every few minutes; that appears to have been corrected.

Good solution with a few kinks to work out.
Date: Dec 15 2020SummaryOverall it's a good solution, simple to use, with many interesting features. It still needs to work out a few kinks, but the overall experience is positive and the solution is constantly working to better itself.
PositiveCloud based solution. Variety of the tools available. Heavily customizable. Easy to use and get familiar with.
NegativeVarious updates that don't always simplify the work and cause inaccessibility to documents . Changed the "documents" so that you can't see right away who created a specific doc and it's harder to get older version of the document.

Clio is Great
Date: Dec 16 2020SummaryGreat product. Easy to use. Saves me so much time. The clients like the look of the invoices. I like how quickly I can send out invoices.
PositiveClio is so easy! The interface is intuitive. I can easily prepare invoices and keep track of payments.
NegativeI struggle to think of any problems with the product. Early on in my use, I did need to get some support, but now I know how it works.

Effective Product
Date: Dec 15 2020SummaryI would highly recommend CLIO as a product to my colleagues. We have only been a firm since September 2019 and it has been an integral part of managing our operation.
PositiveThis product is user friendly, provide multiple reports for productivity/usage, and allows ease of use of court rules and its calendaring tool.
NegativeIf we have a single client with multiple matters, we find managing that clients trust monies across all matters to be challenging.

Performance data at my fingertips
Date: Dec 30 2020Summary-Best case management system I've ever used. I previously used Amicus and the functionality of this is astounding in comparison. Our firm strives to be 'paperless' and Clio is a huge part of making that successful.
Positive-The amount of reports that I can generate with one click regarding both individual, firm-wide, and practice-area billing and my collections is phenomenal. Easy to track my own goals.
-Real-time info on how much has been billed on a file and how much is left in trust.
-E-signing program makes client-signing during a pandemic a breeze.
-The downloadable app helps clients keep up to date on their case easily.
-Easy access to client file anywhere I have an internet connection.Negative-Interaction with Outlook calendar has glitches. Takes several steps to link an outlook calendar entry to a client file. Wish there was an add-on that made this easier.

-When sharing document folders, there isn't an easy record of who has opened or downloaded which makes it's utility limited for Discovery exchanges. -

Customer Service gets an A+++
Date: Dec 28 2020SummaryCLIO is an awesome product. It has increased our productivity and helps us capture the time we are billing to our clients. The customer service is off-the-charts amazing, which is very rare these days. They work very hard to help us get the most out of their product. They are constantly improving the platform and actually want to hear our suggestions. It get better every month. I can't imagine running our office without CLIO.
PositiveCustomer service and ease of use. The reporting is excellent. It is fast and constantly being updated. The invoices are customizable which is very nice to avoid a cookie cutter look.
NegativeI wish there was a way for trust replenishment to be set to automatically get calculated into new invoices.

Clio Works Great!
Date: Dec 23 2020SummaryMy overall experience has been very positive. At this point, I would not use any other product for my practice management needs.
PositiveVery, very user friendly. It is cloud based, so I can use it anywhere. Further, it makes tracking all of my matter-related data very easy. It is the most comprehensive and easiest to use practice management software I have used.
NegativeIt is cloud based, therefore if I cannot access the internet, I cannot access my data and all the information in the system. Generally, this is not an issue, but it does come up occasionally.

Indispensable
Date: Dec 23 2020SummaryIt's really great, and I don't see any reason to complain about it. There are a few minor glitches from time to time, but nothing significant that would cause me to stop using it.
PositiveEasy to use, very customizable, and very responsive customer service. I've used it for years and am very happy with how it has developed and changed over time.
NegativeA few minor glitches, mostly with the timer sticking to time entries.

Great Product for Solo Practitioners
Date: Dec 28 2020SummaryReally love this product. I use it daily in my legal practice, and plan on continuing my subscription for the years to come.
PositiveThis is a great service for tracking time, making to-do lists, creating a calendar, and keeping track of your trust account. I highly recommend to any solo practitioner.
NegativeCan't link activities to another firm. Otherwise this is a great product.

Great Organizational Product
Date: Dec 26 2020SummaryClio is obviously easy to use for billing but I really appreciate the ability to upload voicemail, emails, documents and notes directly to a client file. Having everything in one place helps me cut down on paper and minimizes the possibility of losing things.
PositiveEverything in one place. Easy to organize different aspects of client file. Simple billing process. Syncing with Outlook.
NegativeSometimes the syncing saves a single item multiple times which is clunky/takes up space. It would also be nice to save a calendar entry to repeat weekly or monthly instead of entering multiple times.
