What is DbSchema?
DbSchema is a cutting-edge application tailored for collaborative visual design, deployment, and documentation of database schemas among team members. Featuring a variety of integrated tools like data exploration, a visual query editor, and a data generator, it proves to be an indispensable asset for anyone engaged in daily database work. The tool supports a broad spectrum of relational and No-SQL databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, MariaDB, Redshift, Snowflake, and Google, thereby addressing a multitude of database requirements. A highlight of DbSchema is its ability to reverse-engineer database schemas, transforming them into visual diagrams that users can interact with through other visual tools. Moreover, the DbSchema model retains its own version of the schema, which is separate from the actual database, facilitating smooth deployment across various platforms. This unique feature allows users to save their design models as files, utilize GIT for storage, and collaborate on schema designs without the necessity of a direct database connection. Users can also easily compare various schema versions and create SQL migration scripts, thereby boosting their overall workflow efficiency. In essence, DbSchema not only enhances team collaboration but also significantly optimizes database management workflows, making it an invaluable tool in the field.

Excellent tool for the price
Date: Apr 01 2021SummaryDbSchema Pro is an excellent tool for the price. It is attractive, intuitive, and includes the features that are most important to me without adding a lot of complication that I see in more "enterprise" level tools. I can quickly and easily put together a conceptual ERD either connected or not connected to a database, then either connect to generate the schema in the database or generate a sql script. Then I can easily make updates either to the model or to the database and keep them synchronized. I can easily switch connections in order to push changes to multiple environments. The graphical representation is simple and elegant, presenting all the important information without a lot of noise.
