What is FigCraft?
FigCraft is an innovative, open-source tool for designing interfaces and creating prototypes, developed entirely in pure Rust, which ensures a fast and native experience that starts up instantly and functions flawlessly offline. This application combines various elements such as frames, auto layout, components, variants, vector networks, styles, variables, and prototypes into a user-friendly workspace that includes intuitive toolbars, layers, menus, and keyboard shortcuts. Its auto layout feature supports both horizontal and vertical layouts with options for wrapping, grids, as well as padding, gaps, and several sizing configurations like Hug, Fill, and Fixed, in addition to constraints and layout grids that enhance flexibility. Designers can easily create reusable components with adjustable instances, overrides, variants, and properties, while also benefiting from styles and variables that cater to both light and dark modes. The vector editing tools are comprehensive, featuring options like pen and pencil, shape creation, editable Boolean operations, variable-width strokes, and the capability to design rounded corners. Prototyping functionalities include connections, triggers, animated transitions, and specialized presentation modes, while the Dev Mode further improves usability by offering accurate measurements and useful annotations. Ultimately, FigCraft strives to simplify the design workflow, ensuring both efficiency and enjoyment for users ranging from beginners to experts, all while fostering a creative environment that promotes experimentation and innovation.
