    Summary

    If you’re a filmmaker or editor, don’t waste your time with Filmsupply, especially not their EditFest competition. No matter how skilled you are, you won’t win. It’s all rigged, as the 2021 edition clearly showed.

    They’re shady too. You won’t find any real info about who’s actually behind FilmSupply , their website doesn’t disclose a thing. It’s all smoke and mirrors.

    They claim that major studios like Netflix, Warner Bros, Amazon, and Hulu use their footage, but honestly, I’d take that with a grain of salt. I’ve never seen any of their clips in actual productions from those companies. Might be worth contacting them directly to ask for proof, because right now it feels more like a marketing flex than reality.

    Some videos are really well shot, but that's cause of good filmmakers and actors, not because of Filmsupply. I hope they get paid enough.

    Every year, they run EditFest just to attract editors and directors, but the truth is, they already know who’s going to win. They don’t even bother watching all the submissions. Just look at EditFest 2021: the winning video was uploaded to Vimeo before the submission deadline even ended. It even had obvious technical errors, like a crew member accidentally left in the shot. And it still won. Why? Because it’s all rigged. Don't even waste your efforts trying to win their fake competitions. I guess the prizes are also fake.

    Once you subscribe to their site, get ready for daily spam. If it’s not EditFest, it’s Musicbed or Acidbite, all their platforms, same story. Constant emails, nonstop promotions. It’s more about marketing than actual filmmaking. They are hungry for money.

    Shady contests and terrible footage

    Check Filmsupply on Instagram, read the comments and find out what happened. They rigged the contest and are actively sweeping it under the rug. 100+ editors left to rot as the contest winners break rules and have genuinely terrible videos. One didn't even have the music in their MUSIC video.

    Nothing. Not a single thing. This was a terrible company doing shady marketing stunts. A whole month wasted.
