Tangerin AI
Tangerin AI
Uncover AI usage, ensure compliance, and mitigate risks.Tangerin AI operates as a governance platform for artificial intelligence in Brazil, tackling a significant challenge faced by many organizations: determining which AI tools—both authorized and those informally used, commonly known as Shadow AI—are being utilized, who the users are, the potential data risks involved, and what evidence is necessary for auditing. The platform facilitates data collection in two primary manners: via a lightweight endpoint agent that supports Windows, macOS, and Linux, or through the agentless ingestion of pre-existing logs from Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), Secure Service Edge (SSE), and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems. Each data signal collected is compared against a comprehensive catalog that features more than 6,000 AI tools, which includes information on data risks, processing locations, retention policies, and intended applications. Additionally, every tool is classified according to predefined policies as permitted, restricted, or banned; employees must digitally sign off on the AI usage policy, and the compliance module supports 24 distinct frameworks, such as LGPD, ISO 42001, EU AI Act, GDPR, and ISO 27001, while providing automatic evidence crosswalks and tailored views for external auditors. Beyond simply identifying the AI tools in use, the platform also records the timing of their utilization and the specific workstations involved, intentionally omitting any conversation content, prompts, or associated files from its logs. This method illustrates a conscious architectural decision rather than a simple configuration modification, highlighting the platform's commitment to data privacy and security. Ultimately, Tangerin AI aims to empower organizations to maintain control over their AI usage while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. -
